WHEN A 36-YEAR-OLD WOMAN underwent robotic hysterectomy, the gynecologist inserted a plastic trocar and sleeve through the patient's umbilicus to access the abdominal cavity at 7:30 AM.

Angiokeratomas are characterized by asymptomatic hyperkeratotic vascular skin lesions characterized histologically by papillary dermal vascular ectasia and epidermal hyperkeratosis.1 Angiokeratoma corporis diffusum (ACD) is a variety of angiokeratoma where lesions are usually symmetrically distributed and mostly concentrated between the umbilicus and knees.2

Hernia occurring in and around the umbilicus (umbilical or paraumbilical hernia) is another commonly seen condition.

The height, diameter of the shell, umbilicus diameter, number of whorls, aperture size, height of spire and other morphometric parameters of shell were taken as shown in Figures 2 and 3.
