It is believed to be an ancestral relative of the younger and larger
Utahraptor, based on similarities in vertebrae recovered.
Ten species (17 dinosaurs) are represented from the creatures' entire 200,000,000-year reign, including Tyrannosaurus rex, the terror of the ancient terrain, as well as the Plateosaurus and Liliensternus from the Triassic period, the Stegosaurus and Allosaurus from the Jurassic period, and Torosaurus and
Utahraptor from the Cretaceous period.
"You see the same claw shape in the dromeosaurs
Utahraptor and Achillobator, both of which could grow to 6 metres long and weigh several hundred kilograms," Makovicky said.

Containing no human characters, the story is about a family of Cretaceous dinosaurs,
Utahraptor sp., who invade North America from Asia and who are then followed in intimate detail for one year as they travel south into the Utah floodplain and then west to the Pacific.
