wonderful work, love the detail and the lighting and earthly tones!
Myst / Riven
Very lushly detailed games, but they might be hard to find, nowadays.

Steam has a few of them, including the full 3D remake of the first Myst game. The remake is actually really close to the original and plays perfectly for what it is.
cool
I kno I found the old Infocomm games are still out there. ^_^

Heh, I grew up on this series! My dad was into them and introduced me to them early on... My best memories of the series when I was young was with Riven, and then later with Myst III: Exile, and then much later after that when I was a teen with Myst IV: Revaltions.
Oh the memories of playing must with my dad ^.^ instant fav!
YEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS I love Riven. Holy shit. Awesome artwork to boot, as usual!
Your artwork ALWAYS is so beautifully executed and with such amazing detail.
I bow before your awesome talent!

OMG Riven! I remember playing that when I was only like 4 years old back in the early 90s. I still have that game and I loved it. never did beat it though
Oh my sweet god! This is a fantastic Riven commission! I can't begin to say how much I love this!
Wow, I still remember that game. Probably the best out of the series, even considering the non-panning views and THOSE GODDAMN COLORED BEADS
Hope either of you don't mind, but this is heading into the list of the pics that go on my desktop.
hehe this reminds me of a bug in the original copy of Riven. The maglev takes off without the door-closing sound playing. the developer simply claimed the door "closes very fast and silently sometimes" in a Myst-related forum (same developer who hid his initials in the pixels of some screens).
Adorable, awesome artwork, one day I'll catch an open commission slot... one day...
Please, let me borrow your talent for a day. I could do so much with it!
I said it on twatter before, but the LIGHTING HNGGGG ;____; SO BEAUTIFUL
Their expressions are super cutes too

Nice! Love the detail, you're quite the pro with vegetation!
You did a great job on the theme. The moment I saw the image, I thought of Myst. :3
OMFG, I recognized that car before I even clicked them thumbnail. You get a watch+ just for doing a Riven piece, did you play that game?
OMFG RIVEN!! Yes! Always found thise games simply amazing to explore. Have always wondered if anyone would finall have their character drawn in a Riven/Myst setting..
In case you couldnt tell Im very excited. Great piece!

If you did the artwork for the games, I just might find myself playing them again. :)
Man that is sooo cute! If my ubuntu machine wasn't throwing hissy fits when i try and get steam to run I'd be playing all the games. right now
Riven was such an awesome game, the puzzles were an insane mind-fuck *sips tea*
How do you pack so much cute into one picture? This is adorable!
oh! otters And nice setting, i love the transport system and all that. ( and the myst feel!)
I think this will be my next background picture for a wile, thank you!
Always love to see this artist art when it pops up! ^^

Amazing picture as always and now I really want to replay Riven along with the rest of the Myst series
Atrus and Catherine look just amazing. Also the linking book. (The picture within reminds me of Narayan from MystIII:Exile )
Okay, I know I've got the Riven game on my iPod. Time to finally complete that sucker.
I loved Riven, though playing the PS1 version, changing discs whenever going to a different island was a pain. Someone should make the game world in the Skyrim engine :3
I loved going on that! I loved the sounds it made.
Also do you remember the "marble" ride thing where you basically get inside this rolling sphere that rolls down a track like a roller coaster? Man that part was sooooo cooool! I forget which game it's in. I don't think It's Riven. I think It's Exile. But that was such a cool "ride". Unfortunetly the disks got water on them and got ruined so I would have to find a torrent of the game or something to play it again. I also don't know if it can run on Windows 7 either. Oh well. I do have my memories.

I know I'm literally seven years late here -- you're thinking of the ending of the Amateria Age in Myst III Exile. Myst III was kind of the 'black sheep' of the Myst family since, because Cyan Worlds (the company Rand & Robyn Miller created to produce and publish the games after the first one kind of took everything by storm) has always had finance issues somehow, Ubisoft did more of the development than Cyan did -- at least that's my understanding -- and the fanatic side of the Myst fandom didn't take that very well. I don't care, it's my favorite in the series!
Generally speaking, a WinXP machine is your best choice for the entire series, but any 32bit version of Windows (XP / Vista, ugh! / Win7 / Win8.x / Win10) *should* work -- it's the 64bit versions that break compatibility with earlier applications. I can give you several build suggestions and the like if you want to set up a dedicated MYST system -- Note me :)
...oh, and BTW, in case you've somehow, er, "Myst" (missed -- sorry, couldn't resist!) it, there's going to be a VR remake of the original MYST game coming out any day now. Quite amazing to me -- I have one of the early CD-ROMs of the game from the initial 1993-era Windows PC release... still works. Most of the videos you see online are the slightly polished up "Masterpiece Edition" that they did IIRC around 2000 or so.

Yeah but you know late is better than never and I do appreciate such detail in your message. I run Win10 64bit so unless there's a way to "emulate" a Windows OS with Windows 10 I'm probably not going to be able to play Exile again. I think I still have it. I have the first two parts of Uru path of whatever (memory is fuzzy on that)
The VR version is probably going to be pretty sweet. That game already felt like immersion. At least as much as one could in in 1997 (?). But now it should be even better. I hope they kept with the tradition of detailed sound. Not just music, though I always did like the subtle eerie music at certain points in each game.

Build a new system! It's not hard, and if you're a bit clever (and in the US) it's not expensive at all. Far less than I think you expect.
PM me :)

OMG THIS IS GORGEOUS!
There are two ways your art can win me over.
Lots and lots of cuteness.
Drawing Otters in such a style.

I remember riven from my childhood. The best part was riding in those things.
