I love the "cheek fuzz as head hair" look. It's one of those cool cheats you can only do in a 2D drawing.
I don't think Trisha is chonk enough to be a Tanuki (or a Raccoon for that matter), but even willowy she looks cute, anyway. Jackie's top is neat because Kitsunes foxes are supposed to make a 'kon kon' (or 'gon gon') sound.
When I was a kid I used to think the tanuki suit in Super Mario Bros 3 was a full raccoon suit.
