Yes, it's a good strategy. And of course she wouldn't bail on her enclave. <^\/^>
Oh dear, that crowd of little feet looks a lot bigger than I expected, even though I knew there would likely be more than the few shown on the character preview page. Even if she's strong enough to be an All Mother, I feel bad for the poor girl.
I hope Drift can help them out, since he's been able to survive alone all this time. Although hunting will be rough, since feeding one Yinglet (plus a ghost and a Noisy Boy) is far less demanding than feeding an entire enclave, even if a small one..
Also, I wonder how the All Mother at the old place will handle things going forward. If the little feet are a recessive trait (seems most likely from context given so far), there are bound to be more of them coming from later clutches.

The northern enclave is actually quite large. It hasn't set up any new enclaves in many years abs has consolidated its people there scenes before the Breath of The North got jealous and pushed the tree over. The amount of little feet at the time of Little Foot was roughly 1/4 or 1/5 and they usually took up the roll of Keepers and Nurses. So the population that was sent with the new All Mother was an enclave on its self effectively.
As for how The All Mother of the old enclave will deal with any new Little Feet... time will tell. <^\/^>

I was hoping no one would catch that until after I fixed it, heh. <^\/^">
Ah, responsibilities. You can never quite escape it no matter how hard you try. Eventually it will find you in the most inopportune time when you least expect it.
Yep. That's what panic looks like.
I'm not quite sure what's going on here. Is this All Mother just putting something together that the previous All Mother did, that she hasn't been told about, that Life has been guiding her and shielding her from, and now she realizes the truth she's panicking because she thinks she's going to be blamed?
Did the old All Mother murder babies with little feet, saying she 'banished' them?
Or did she actually banish them and now they are wandering around without the protection of an enclave?
The more I think about this the more confused I am becoming. HALP!

Wandering around without the protection of an enclave gives about three days of life expectancy for a yinglet.
The (old) All Mother trained her to start a new enclave (from The (new) All Mother's perspective. But Suttle things The (Old) All Mother said along with what Life said has her rethinking it was all a front to get rid of the little feet all at once. Sorry if it's confusing. <^\/^">
Aha! I think I can appreciate her perspective now. I'm still confused but it's the normal sort of confusion that I know will be cleared up by the reading of future pages.
In fairness all of this would probably have been cleared up in future pages, but this is the joy and frustration of following any comic / graphic novel as it comes out. Occasionally something will throw you and you have to wait for a while before you can get to the part that makes sense again.
Fun Fun Fun!

Like the yinglet in the fifth panel with the hair over his eyes.
I like to think that most of what that position entails is holding in one's constant mental screaming
I think I understand what's happening here, but I'm going to have to go back to the beginning and reread the series to firm up the timeline in my head. It's starting to feel like someone pulled a fast one though, and she practicing eugenics.
Hm, I managed to repeat my comment from 019. That's embarrassing. Still gonna take that dive, though.
