‘Ha, take that!!’

“The Jungle Wisps have led me to many secrets on Nightshade Islands, things long forgotten since ancient times when the island was young. One of the most impressive is a weapon I have come to call ‘Nature’s Fury,’ a little dramatic, I admit, but it just feels right to me.

Nature’s Fury is a bow alive with powerful magics, when you pull back on the string the bow lights up and creates arrows of pure light. These arrows do no harm to living things, rather they strike with a flash of light, and those caught in that flash fall fast asleep, slumber usually for an hour or two. This can be very useful when dealing with thieves and poachers, to quickly knock them out and drag them back to the nearest shore, so they cannot cause trouble.

However, against undead, demons and such, these arrows of light strike like thunderbolts and burn like fire, when facing such foes you can practically feel the bow’s hatred for such beings,… hence the ‘Fury’ in its name. It is devastating against the Boneheads, making quick work of them, and very useful when facing the Naga, allowing me to match her own ranged attacks. Oddly, it doesn’t seem to have an effect on the Wraith, maybe his magic is just too powerful?

I admit, I’m not as good with it as I am with my spear and daggers, but it has proven to be a useful addition to my weapons, very helpful to my role as Guardian of this island, and I am getting better with it.”

I had thought for a long time about expanding Ember’s arsenal, giving her more options certainly seemed a good idea, but the question as to what to give her was a tough one to answer. Her spear and daggers already gave her a lot of versatility, and made other weapons, like swords, seem redundant, and no sense loading her up with weapons that overlapped in function and use. But then I spotted an adoptable post by the incredible Rittik-designs of a leafy bow that seemed quite fitting to Ember’s style, so I went for it. Then, of course, I needed to show it off, and what better way to do so than in an actiony picture from  Shonuff44?

Sho really did great with this one, Ember looks so lively and energetic, and there is a great sense of motion, with her posing, and her hair swaying to the side, even the spindly things sticking from her hair flower swaying with her motion. The detailing on the bow looks amazing, particularly the glowing etchings on the wood and the glow and sparkle of the leaves. The snap of the bow string as she releases it, and the blast produced by the bow really give a feeling of its power, and provide an incredible lighting effect on the whole picture, casting shadows while putting shine on the edges of her hair, armbands and her fingers gripping the bow. And her confident expression really gives a great impression of her leaping up and firing this weapon at some unseen foe.
