Best of luck if you're able to. I personally know a few people who managed to get diagnosed (who were not fishing for a diagnosis, but were looking for any answer) and it's been a huge improvement.

Thank you! I’m sure I’ll find a way to find out wtf is up with my brain, it’ll just take some digging. I’ve seen what a proper diagnosis and the right meds can do and I’m hopeful.

After being told 'it's likely' by doctors, I went to a psych who could make the diagnosis. They said I definitely don't, to the point where 'further screening isn't needed', but I can 'try other things'. But meanwhile they hadn't done any screening yet at all.
This was super weird and different than normal treatment, so I asked another doctor in the same network what might be different.

They said all doctors in their network are negatively rated by their bosses and network if they prescribe certain medications, like anything 'abusable', let's say. Some ADHD medications are stimulants. I asked how I could deal with that. He said, "They'll never do it, not in this network."

Sympathies. Absurd cost barriers also keep me from pursuing any forms of therapy for similar circumstances. Keep us updated as things change!

I'm in the same boat. Wanting to get tested to get my life in order and finally had the courage to ask my doctor and she said that they'd get with their psych division and someone would give me a call to set up an appointment. No one called. Everywhere else is wanting an arm and a leg for testing and me being as forgetful as I am, it's hard as hell for me to get with anyone else. Like, I just wanna be able to do stuff like a normal person. Why's it gotta be so hard lol
