Honestly, the term 'harem' gets slapped on "group of girls following a person" so dam easily, these days, it's lost all meaning.
Actually, fun fact: that sort of 'harem' term has been around since the 1920s; in those days, popular teenage boys/young men would amass themselves groups of girls called 'harems', and the boys would be called 'sheiks', lol.
But, it takes up so much less space than, "group of girls following a person". LOL
