About Furhire Press

Furhire Press was created by Firbet Makes, with help from Sev the Cat.It is a project to help produce and spread the work of furry, anthro, and animal artists.
Currently it is focused on the creation of community zine projects with profits going to charity.In the future Furhire aims to create more diverse projects, such as a calander, artist directory, or comics.

What is a Zine?

A Collabrative Project

A physical or digital self-published book that is available for a limited amount of time. A collaborative zine project that features a group of selected moderators and contributors.Projects may also referr to non book-based forms like: calenders, planners, playing cards, tarot cards.Although the end product is different, the process is typically the same.

Leader of the Furhire Project and co-creator of our mascots
She has worked on sevral zines as a contributor and as a graphics mod.

Art Mod

Sev the Cat

Newly upgraded Art Mod for the project.
They are now in charge of creating the promo art for the project.

Shinies Mod

American Kestrel

Taking over Financials and Production.
They have worked on many fandom and original zines. Kes has a long record of successful projects.

General Mod

Summersdale

Head of communication and management.
She has experince managing multiple community projects.

He has worked on many printed zine project such as Heart & Soul, and Hallow Home.

Miica

The younger of this pair, Miica represents the creativity needed in artistry.
This white rabbit likes to explore new creative persuits for her craft.

Black Rabbit

Ellka

The older of this pair, Ellka represents the discipline needed in artistry.
Ellka goes through practice after practice to create their best performance.

Firbet Makes

Bethany Bronwyn Curtis or Firbet Makes is a UK based multimedia artist who graduated from Hereford College of Arts with a BA(hons) in Illustration.An Asexual, Aromantic, Agender artist who aims to advocate and spread awareness of the A-spectum and support other artists in anyway they can.The main organiser and lead of Furhire.

Sev the Cat

Sev the Cat is a queer artist from Germany. He is currently seeking a higher education with a focus on art conservation and restoration.They have a skill for posing and perspective. Having worked with Firbet to create Furhire with thier passion for non-human art media.Sev has an interest in art history and conservation and hopes to apply under an altierre to learn more.

Talaka

Talaka is a queer Comic and Concept Illustrator and agent of chaos.Having graduated in Game Art, at Designakademie Rostock, with a focus on worldbuilding gave him a springboard into all kinds of visual storytelling.His most prevalent work is a Fan-Comic that has been ongoing for eight years now. However, an original web-comic about supernatural characters is set to debut later this year.

Catsming

Jojo Aftomis or Catsming is genderqueer storyteller. They're an alumni from Savannah College of Arts and Design and majored in Sequential Arts and minored in Storyboarding.They are currently working at an indie animation studio, Studio GEARHEAD as a Storyboard and Background/Layout Artist. They are also involved with Furhire Press' first zine, A World Connected, as a comic artist.

Gravity Rose

Gravity Rose is a self taught artist from Australia.
They create digital illustrations specialising in character pieces.They have worked as a contributor multiple large scale projects including Furhire Press Vol 1 and Chaos Quill Collection.They aim to enter the professional art market with Furhire's support, and is currently setting up an online shop to fund her development.

Tekatonic

Tekatonic is a queer a-spec artist originating from the French Caribbean. They are currently studying game-making in southern France.They have a passion for creating and engineering worlds, stories and characters. Such as their work in Sonic World Adventure and Kaleidoscopic Absolution fanzines.They plan to realize unique game projects of their own and make a positive impact and help people with similar issues feel seen.
