Last year's best deals

No matter whether you want to build up your collection or secure some presents ahead of the Holiday season, the annual Black Friday Lego deals are your best chance. These offers are almost always better than anything we see for the rest of the year, and it's an opportunity to secure kits that rarely get a discount.

Yes, I know - the sale is better known for its tech discounts. But you can get some top-tier savings on toys as well. Besides allowing you to secure some of the best Lego sets for a fraction of their normal price, you can find plenty of gift-worthy kits for so much less than usual. With Christmas following shortly after the yearly Black Friday Lego deals wind down, that's not to be sniffed at.

To help you save time as well as money, you'll find my advice on how to take advantage of Black Friday Lego deals below. Besides filling you in on where you'll discover the best reductions, I've got some tips on which sets are ones to watch in 2024.

When will Black Friday Lego deals start?

The year's biggest sales event always takes place after Thanksgiving and on the final Friday of November, so we can expect Black Friday to occur on November 29, 2024.

However, that doesn't mean you've got a single day to find good Black Friday Lego deals. Even though the best offers will be reserved for that 24-hour period, the savings begin at least a week before and continue into early December (at which point they're re-labelled as 'Cyber Monday' reductions). That means you've got plenty of time to nab a bargain.

Where will the best Black Friday Lego deals be?

While usual suspects like Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy are sure to go all in on Black Friday Lego deals this year (they always do), there are alternatives worth considering as well. For example, it's worth watching out for the official Lego site. I've seen plenty of generous discounts across its range before, and a very healthy 20% was knocked off many sets in Black Fridays past. Seeing as it features some exclusive items you won't find anywhere else, bearing it in mind this November is a must.

Supermarkets are also a great place to go deals-hunting, and some of their offers are better than anything else you'll see. UK shops in particular get their share of excellent Black Friday Lego deals; Aldi sliced a whopping 60% off the Millennium Falcon a little while back, for instance. Have a look online or in person during the 2024 sales in case we get more hot discounts.

Otherwise, keep an eye on the following:

USA
- Amazon:
Traditionally the best all-rounder for Lego deals
- Lego: Has offered discounts of up to 20% in the past
- Zavvi: Surprisingly good cuts on fan-favorites
- Best Buy: Usually provides a great variety of savings
- Walmart: Discounts on Technic, Harry Potter, Classic, and more

UK
- Amazon:
A great Lego all-rounder during Black Friday
- Lego: Known to give discounts of up to 20%
- Zavvi: Great reductions on fan-favorite sets
- Very: Reliable source of offers
- Argos: Excellent for savings on sets like Lego Mario
- John Lewis: There's less choice, but the Lego discounts are still good

What does Black Friday mean for Lego fans?

While Black Friday is better known for its tech discounts, you can get some cracking offers on Lego during the event. In fact, some of the year's best prices are found during this November sales extravaganza.

In a nutshell, that is what Black Friday means for Lego fans - the chance to save record amounts on sets that rarely get a reduction (alongside some that do). We've seen this happen over and over again in years gone by, so 2024 shouldn't be any different. As a case in point, the highly sought-after Rivendell kit dropped to its lowest ever price for a limited time last year, and proved to be the best opportunity to save on the kit we've seen before or since. Now that hotly anticipated newcomers such as Barad-dur, D&D, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Zelda have joined the range, I'm hoping we'll see a similar occurrence this November.

What to expect from Black Friday Lego deals 2024

Lego goes weapons free so far as deals are concerned in November, and that means you can save on everything from cheap kits to the most expensive sets. While the former often get discounted, it's the latter you should watch out for. Seeing as they so rarely go on offer, this is the best time to buy something like Lego Rivendell; premium builds tend to hold their price for most of the year, so it's your best chance of getting them for less.

In terms of specifics, I'd keep a close eye on the pricier kits that launched in the first half of 2024 or the final months of last year - we're talking the Lego Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter, Barad-dur, D&D, Avengers Tower, etc. These haven't enjoyed any major reduction yet, so I suspect Black Friday will be their chance. Seeing as they normally weigh in at several hundred dollars or pounds, that's one hell of an opportunity.

Want a broader overview? No problem. Here's what you need to know:

💲 Premium sets get the biggest price cuts
While cheap and mid-range sets receive plenty of eye-catching reductions, the most expensive ones steal the limelight. That's because hundreds of dollars/pounds can be - and often are - knocked off the MSRP. Actually, I've often seen up to $200 fall away from high-end Technic, Star Wars, and Harry Potter kits more than once.

🎬 Sets based on popular franchises enjoy the most frequent discounts
Generally speaking, the most popular Black Friday Lego deals belong to IPs like Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Marvel. These make up the lion's share of savings in my experience, which is understandable; they're hot stuff. As an example, 'Lego Star Wars' and 'Lego Millennium Falcon' are some of the most searched Black Friday terms according to my keyword research. And honestly, that buzz is understandable; during a Black Friday not so long ago, the Lego UCS Millennium Falcon enjoyed the best discount it's had in the UK for ages.

🧱 Classic Lego isn't left behind, though
That isn't to say non-IP brands will get ignored, of course. City, Classic, Ideas, Icons, Technic, and the rest always receive plenty of savings too, and we'd anticipate new additions to the ever gift-worthy flowers range (like the roses) getting slashed. Indeed, some of the steepest reductions are for the Classic brick boxes that get you a load of building blocks for your own projects.

A lot of third-party knock-offs will appear
You can basically guarantee that Amazon will be flooded with naff third-party Lego knock-offs during this year's Black Friday sale, so be sure to look a little closer if something seems too good to be true.

🎄 Get your Lego advent calendars during Black Friday
Finally, it's always worth waiting until Black Friday if you want Lego advent calendars. These hit all-time low prices during the 2023 November sale, so keep that in mind for 2024. Just be aware that stock becomes increasingly sparse as we near December, however, so don't hang about for too long.

Last year's best Black Friday Lego deals

Image

Lego Hogwarts Express - Collector's Edition | $499.99 $349.99 at Amazon
Save $150 - That was a huge reduction on this new, fancier version of the Hogwarts Express, and it had never been cheaper. It was also listed as a Cyber Monday offer, so lasted through the weekend.

Image

Lego Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 | $449.99 $293.99 at Amazon
Save $156 - Good lord, that was quite literally the cheapest this impressive Technic set had ever been. As in, by loads. The lowest price we'd seen before was around $360.

Image

Lego Jurassic Park Visitor Centre | $129.99 $83.99 at Amazon
Save $46 - This new kit had actually dropped by a lot more than we expected, and ended up sitting pretty at its lowest ever price.

Image

Lego Harry Potter Advent Calendar 2023 | $44.99 $20 at Walmart
Save $25 - And there we go, yet another record low price. You could get the latest Harry Potter advent calendar from Lego for less than it'd ever been, and have it ready in time for December.

Image

Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar 2023 | $44.99 $20 at Walmart
Save $25 - That was last year's Star Wars advent calendar at its lowest ever price by a long way, so ended up being one of the better Black Friday Lego deals if you wanted to get organized ahead of December.

Image

Lego Marvel Advent Calendar 2023 | $44.99 $20 at Walmart
Save $25 - Well hello, what have we here? Its a lowest-ever price, you say? What excellent timing... and the Black Friday Lego deals had barely gotten started.

Image

Lego Dobby The House Elf | $34.99 $28 at Amazon
Save $7 - Master has given Dobby his lowest ever price! We'd not seen this cute kit for less, so it was already one of the better Black Friday Lego deals.

Image

Lego Luke Skywalker's X-Wing Fighter | $49.99 $32.39 at Amazon
Save $16 - This was a record-low price to kick things off for last year's Black Friday Lego deals. Luke's X-Wing had always been a popular set, and we imagine it crashing beyond its previous cheapest point by $8 wouldn't have hurt.

Image

Lego Marvel I am Groot | $54.99 $43.99 at Amazon
Save $11 - D'aww, isn't he adorable? He'd also never been cheaper, so that was pretty great too. A good get with the Black Friday Lego deals, basically. Oh, and if you'd prefer a 'Venomized' version of Groot, that was available for 20% less at Amazon too.

Image

Lego Back to the Future DeLorean | $199.99 $155 at Amazon
Save $45 - Great Scott, that was this kit's lowest ever price! That made it one of the better Black Friday Lego deals overall.

Save £40 - My precious set had never been cheaper than this, so if you'd been waiting for your chance to strike, this was it.

Image

Lego UCS Millennium Falcon | £734.99 £584.99 at Smyths
Save £150 - This enormous kit hadn't been much cheaper than this, and not for a long time. If our calculations are correct, not since Black Friday 2020 when it was £548.67...

Image

Lego Hogwarts Castle and Grounds | £149.99 £95.99 at Amazon
Save £54 - The lowest price for this new version of Hogwarts arrived for Black Friday last year, and it was a faintly ridiculous discount for something so new.

Image

Lego Icons Bonsai Tree | £44.99 £28.73 at Amazon
Save £16 - This was the cheapest price we'd seen this botanical build drop to, making it a perfect gift to brighten up someone's living space.

Image

Lego Atari 2600 | £209.99 £146.99 at Lego
Save £63 - Here's another great offer for last year's Black Friday Lego deals. By our reckoning, this kit had never been cheaper... and it has only hit £159 (ish) before now.

Image

Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar 2023 | £29.99 £22.50 at Argos
Save £7.50 - This was one of the better Black Friday Lego deals we've seen for advent calendars, so was well worth a look.

Image

Lego Harry Potter Advent Calendar 2023 | £29.99 £20 at Lego
Save £10 - And there we go, nearly a record low price. With December fast approaching, it wasn't the worst idea to get prepared with this saving. It'd only ever been half a pound cheaper.

Image

Lego Captain America's Shield | £179.99 £129.99 at Amazon
Save £50 - Cap's shield had literally never been cheaper, so the sale was a great time to dive in if you'd had your eye on the kit.

Image

Lego Super Mario The Mighty Bowser | £229.99 £154.99 at Amazon
Save £69 - This set may have briefly dropped lower at the end of 2022, but this was the cheapest price we'd seen Mario's adversary available for in a while.

Naturally, Black Friday Lego deals aren't the only worthwhile offers this November. We can also expect some cracking Black Friday board game deals, not to mention D&D Black Friday deals.
