It was supposed to be a simple job. Grab some specimens from Earth and sell them on the interstellar black markets. In and out, with no one the wiser, except Tren accidentally abducts a human.
A barbaric female, who doesn't know how to be quiet and obey. That will affect her selling price especially since she only possesses two breasts, and a single mouth. Yet, in spite of her shortcomings there is something about her spitfire nature that intrigues him.
Maybe he should keep her. He's definitely not keen on getting rid of her after he seduces her.
A space pirate doesn't usually fall in love, but when an enemy decides to take Megan, Tren realizes he will do anything to get her back.
Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
Ah Tren...He's a yummy Alien mercenary...make that retired mercenary. He's decided that life was too dangerous and would have eventually gotten him killed. He's now a procurer of all things that will fetch a price. Imagine his surprise when his fishing expedition turns into an accidental abduction of a very sexy human woman.
Megan
Megan's boyfriend has left her to die...literally. What are the odds of one woman being the victim of an attempted murder and an alien adbuction, all in the same night?
This was a sexy wild ride that had me laughing at these two as they fought, fu@ked, and found love. If you enjoy your sci-fi mixed with sexy times with a little abduction, then this is the book for you!!
Warning; These purple aliens are pretty bad ass!!!
The following ratings are out of 5: Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙 Romance: 💚🖤💙❤️ Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙 World building: 🌏🌍🌎 Character development: 🥲😳😋
The heroine:Megan - she went on an ocean cruise with her boyfriend and ended up being left behind floating in the ocean. Megan thought she had zero chance of survival when she was lifted into the air and placed in an aquarium in a spaceship. She immediately took her situation in and did what she could to get out of the aquarium before it was sealed shut.
The Hero:Tren - an acquisitions specialist (wrangler and transporter of rare species from undeveloped galaxies). He used to be a mercenary, but merc’s didn’t tend to live long so he changed jobs. He was on earth to pick up some of the local ocean species when he ends up with a human woman who he has no use for.
The Story: From the moment Megan met the 7 foot tall, handsome purple alien, they fought like cats and dogs. Even before she got the translator in her ear, she stood up to Tren and frustrated him to no end. Though Tren planned on selling her at the first auction he came across he couldn’t deny that she intrigued him. He had heard that females from Earth were not sought after as slaves since they tended to cry a lot and their minds often broke easily.
The book is told in both characters points of view via dual narration. The narrators are J.F. Harding and Holly Chandler. They were ok as narrators, though not my favorites by far. Holly has a loud clear voice which actually matched the outspoken Megan quite well and J.F. did a fine job and has a pleasing if not remarkable voice.
Megan wasn’t very likable at first. I don’t know how some authors can make an outspoken and argumentative woman seem like a strong, independent woman and others make them just seem like a nag and a harpy. Megan seemed like the latter, but I was interested in the story. I like alien romance when they take place on spaceships and space stations.
Accidental Abduction strained the boundaries of my ability to suspend disbelief too far. It's funny and funny smut is usually great, but in this case, I was just too incredulous - and annoyed, don't forget annoyed - to enjoy it. A selection of ridiculous/irritating things:
- Aliens who fly to other planets just to go fishing. - Fishing methods that involve basically sucking up the ocean, but do not catch anything other than fish and one very annoying woman. Because obviously there's nothing else in the ocean. - A heroine who 'glares imperiously' at an alien because, wait for it, he doesn't speak English. - A heroine who 'considers allowing her captor to sell her as a sex slave', when, really, what the hell is she going to do to stop him? - A heroine who thinks that being a sex slave involves her own sexual pleasure and being showered with gifts. I'm going to try not to go into a rant about the realities of human trafficking because I know this is pure fantasy, but still. - A heroine who spends the entire book telling us how great she is at sex, but also calls other women sluts. And for no reason other than they were near the hero. - A heroine who was apparently being manipulated and isolated by her ex-boyfriend who then acts very much like the dominant member of a partnership. - The phrase "skinny bitches". Wow, FUCK YOU. - The heroine thinking it's ok to hit/knee in the groin etc the hero every time she is annoyed. Not cool. - Grown adults who act like petulant children. - The heroine in general and her sense of entitlement and ginormous ego.
Accidental Abduction is book one in the Alien Abduction by Eve Langlais. Such a fun start to the series. This book is fun, light-hearted, sexy and full of laughs.
Megan finds herself abandoned in the middle of the ocean, because her boyfriend decided to get rid of her. Just as she thinks she’s going to drown, she’s picked up and deposited in a space ship. I liked Megan. She didn’t go into hysterics like most women in these stories do. She stayed calm.
Tren is a space pirate and retired merc. He’s a sexy purple alien who ends up with a human he want’s nothing to do with. He’s going to sell her first chance until he decides to keep her. I liked Tren. He lives his life to the mercenary code book and he can’t understand how one human women gets under his skin.
How Megan and Tren meet is funny and I enjoyed the banter between them. Theirs a little danger and subterfuge that kept things moving along too. These two fight the attraction, but in the end succumb. The banter references a lot of pop culture that goes over the big purple aliens head. It’s so funny! I liked how she antagonizes him and how he teases her back.
This was a fun and enjoyable story. There isn’t a lot of depth which is ok with me. It’s funny and full of romance. I enjoyed this so much that I went out and picked up book 3. I’m skipping 2 for now; because it didn’t interest me. I like my women human and my aliens hot and sexy.
If I were to sum this up in 2 words it would be: hot & sassy. I love Langlais’ writing style. The touch of snark with an inviting atmosphere sets the tone for the novel perfectly. Vivid descriptions bring the setting to life, be it on earth or in space. The plot itself was well thought out and definitely held my attention. It was fast paced and hot as all frux .
The charged chemistry and heated banter between the main characters was fantastic, really adding to my understanding of their personalities. The fact that they refused to openly admit their feelings gave me a moment or two of giggling while at the same time, I enjoyed how they got to know each other through their arguing. I loved how Langlais used sex not as simply an interlude, but as a way to give readers even further insight into who the characters were. Yes, it was a key component to the story and extremely vivid, but there was also a point to it, rather than simply an interlude.
This was a gripping novella that not only has me hooked on the series, but on Langlais’ writing as a whole.
Eve knows how to write hunky dominating aliens, her latest release Accidentally Abduction is quite entertaining. I enjoyed the storyline and the fun and danger Eve adds to the story.
Megan is having a bad day and her luck with men is even worse. Her now Xboyfriend just dumped her out to sea for dead. Then all the sudden she finds herself face to face with a hunky purple Han Solo looking alien. Oh wait, can her do be looking up? Nope, it not because the alien doesn’t want a big mouth human to deal with oh no, he wants to sell her, but she keeps talking about sex and its intriguing his other parts, so you know where this will lead LOL. This is not a love fest relationship, oh no, these two loves to bicker and then bickers some more... Why do they bicker so much you ask? Well, Megan has a big mouth she just can’t keep shut and Tren doesn’t too much like it. It just makes reading so much more for fun especially for these two.
I have to say, this book starts out and ends really good, but the bickering from Megan did get to me in the middle before it calmed. Over all still a good read. I loved the imagination Eve adds and the way she brought about the coupling.
Jarico is Tren bother you get a peek at his book next at the end.
Quotes Here’s Megan with her mouth action- “Not for you I won’t be. I like my men with some balls. I think you left yours at home. Or did someone already neuter them for you?” Megan’s smile goaded him as much as her provoking words.
Megan getting into trouble yet again, oh wait, this maybe good trouble;-) Once again, he tore his mouth from hers and perused her with heavy lidded eyes. “I told you to put it on. Obey me, Earthling.” She met his luminous gaze, her tummy swirling at the passion she could see in its depths. Her lips curled into a taunting smile. “Make me.” Challenge thrown, he wasted no time and she squealed as he sprang into action….
I loved this book! The only issue was that it was too short, but I really liked how they were fighting their attraction for each other through most of the book.
Megan is a kick-ass heroine and Tren is just plain hot and purple - my favorite color.
In customary Eve Langais fashion, this smutty alien read was funny and chuck full of sarcastic humor and sass. It’s short, it’s steamy and it’s entertaining.
It’s a common story line, alien male meets human female, but it’s not insta-love. Lust? Definitely but Tren sees humans as weak (being an arrogant jerk), he feels superior to earthlings and itsn’t shy about voicing his opinion on the matter. He isn’t at all friendly with Megan at first. Megan on the other hand is just as freaked out about waking up aboard a space ship complete with a grouchy purple alien. She’s head strong, stubborn and not afraid to match wits with her reluctant captor.
There were some laugh out loud moments and once Tren and Megan give in to their attraction, things between them heat up pretty fast. I’m a sucker for reluctant Heroes who turn to mush for their heroines and Tren falls so hard for his human! That was the best part, TBH.
What I liked: I always appreciate a good laugh and E.L doesn’t disappoint. Her brand of humor can be silly one minute and raunchy the next but it worked for me.
Although short, I think the world building was pretty good too. I liked the feel to the story, it kept things interesting and I really liked the chemistry between the MCs.
Memorable Moment: Tren and Megan’s alien/human anatomy lesson. I wanted to put a quote here but I literally highlighted the whole scene and it was too much. Long story short, Tren’s race doesn’t have belly buttons, their males don’t have nipples – …”females have nipples, not males. Why would we? We are not the ones who feed the young.” and the guys have their testicles tucked into their bodies.
“Only a less evolutionized race would keep their seed sacs out in the open where they are vulnerable to damage.”
This was one of the funniest scenes and definitely made this read stand out, lol!
Would I recommend? I really enjoyed this one and would recommend if you don’t mind a quick steamy out of this world romance trope.
I wanted to switch things up so I decided to go outside the contemporary romances, and go with a sci-fi romance. Even with some quibbles regarding things like logic and repetitive plot points, it was still entertaining.
As the story begins, Megan’s treading water in the Pacific wondering how she ended up with another loser boyfriend. A loser boyfriend who actually tried to kill her by dumping her out in the middle of the ocean during a moonlight cruise. Tren is an acquisitions specialist from outer space, and he’s harvesting fish and other aquatic animals from the ocean when Megan’s caught in his net. Tren decides that he can always auction off the mouthy little barbarian, while Megan can’t help but annoy the big purple pirate.
The bickering and the sex are the biggest selling points to the story, since there’s little logic to be found (how is Megan able to breathe on these other worlds?). Megan’s mouthy and Tren’s pretty much an alpha-hole - domineering and arrogant, but incredibly understanding of Megan. Their sex scenes are plentiful and some of the gadgets on the ship are neat.
As for the not so good, Tren is traveling through the galaxy to sell his acquisitions, but nothing really happens. Most of the story is them arguing on the ship. Tren’s brother is introduced and there is a moderate threat from a couple of villains and both are dealt with in almost identical ways so it’s a lather, rinse, repeat type of plot.
The bottom line is Accidental Abduction is as silly as it could be, but I was entertained while I read it. I’d read more of this series, but I would probably space them out so as to not be overwhelmed by the lack of logic.
Oh, man! I read the excerpt for this book and absolutely loved how irreverent it sounded. I mean, mouthy earth girl meets purple space pirate hunk! I was hooked. I went out and picked it up on the spot and ended up just loving it.
Megan is sassy (sometimes when she shouldn't be), smart and ridiculously unlucky at love. Dump her into the arms of a bored ex-merc who flips all her switches - sexually speaking - and you end up with one hot, sexy, steamy ride. In space, no less. I do love my sexy sci-fi books. Considering how much I enjoy these types of books, I should really read more of them.
This book was fun. Fun, fun, fun. And I like that. I like coming to the end of a book and thinking "That was awesome. Give me more horny purple space pirates, please." I just liked this book. I liked how sassy Megan was. I liked how Tren kept trying to tell himself that he was just keeping Megan around for the sex. I liked that it was a light-hearted read.
I'm totally going to go paw through Eve Langlais' other ebooks now to see what else catches my fancy.
Rated 3.5 stars Though it was a fun book because of the banter between the two. I think the quick insta-love was a bit much but I guess it’s an alien thing. LOL
Once you go purple...... So I probably, most likely would never have picked this one up by myself. Aliens I just never thought was my thing. Boy did I love this though! It was super hot and jammed pack with action. Megan and Tren together was magic. I smiled throughout most of this. Definitely will be continuing this series.
Thanks Donna for picking this book for out OTRA club!
I will never see the color purple the same again but, hey, purple popsicles need love to. =)
Accidental Abduction is my first Eve Langlais experience and I am beyond impressed. As soon as I completed this title I looked over to my husband and told him I will be reading more from this author.
Listed as Science Fiction / Fantasy Romance there is one thing this book is and that is romance. Within 100+ pages Eve takes her reader to a whole other world. The romance is not a typical boy meets girl, for that I am grateful. Eve gives us an alien warrior slash Mercenary (Tren) and a quick-mouthed human (Megan). The results fills each page with heat and humor.
There is one highlight I'd like to make. Megan does not shy away from violence the comes with space traveling with one of the most impressive alien men. Tern is at the top of the food chain and so he is a target in himself. There were times where Tren had to deal a heavy blow and Megan knew there was no other way. There was no cowering or insisting there is another way. No wasted words- I loved it.
To come..... At the end of Accidental Abduction readers are treated to a taste of what's to follow. To my delight, I enjoyed what I read and will be waiting the release of Intentional Abduction.
My Rating: 5 because I enjoyed how the characters played off one another. The banter and attraction is well-written.
This book is fantastic! If you enjoy romance stories with hot, dangerous, alpha men - strong, opinionated women who don't necessarily have to lay around sobbing waiting for the hero to save them, and red hot sex - you'll love this book! The story is packed with humor, intrigue, paranormal adventure and really hot sex! I strongly recommend buying Accidental Abduction and let it take you away to a whole other world.
I rate this book a 3. It has some hilarious moments. This story was more a fun comical & light a read vs sexy one. I really did enjoy the interaction between the alien & female lead.
What a rollicking good ride through the universe. I laughed out loud at the sassy heroine and her outrageous comments. A great read if you are looking for something short, sweet and out of this world 🌎
I love this kind of heroine. Doesn't cry, panic or whine. No Pity party for Megan. This girl's got moxie!
Her crappy live-in boyfriend Cameron, has just hip-checked her off the side of his boat and sailed away leaving her to drown in the ocean. Megan then finds herself caught in an anti-grav beam getting pulled into an alien ship. Megan is a quick thinker and saves herself from drowning again, even if it causes her an injury.
When she wakes from being passed out from the pain, she sees 'a huge purple Han Solo' towering over her and passes out again. I never really cared for the cover of this book, so the description of a purple Han Solo was yummy and helped me to enjoy Tren more.
Tren is irritated he caught this barbarian female but finds he likes her spirit. He intends to sell her off at some kind of slave auction but finds himself drawn to this female that doesn't back down from him, isn't intimidated by him and gives him hell at every opportunity.
Of course they end up hitting the sheets and getting a little addicted to each other. Megan gets kidnapped, beaten...Tren rescues her and realizes his feelings for her...
More bad guys await, but Tren's the man. Good HEA.
Oh - and the epilogue made me giggle out loud. Cameron gets his payback. (huge grin)
2.5 - Purple Pirate - Stars. But I'm rounding up because I didn't hate it.
This book is exactly what you would expect from an alien smut book.
1. A chauvinist alpha male alien.
And all males know the only time a woman should speak is during sex when she screams our name.
2. Interesting organs.
“Neutered, spayed or whatever the hell you call it when you’ve had your balls chopped off. Dear god, don’t tell me that’s how you aliens practice birth control?”
3. Smart ass human female.
“Ooh, make me shake in teeny, tiny fear, why don’t you? My god, are all your kind so poorly endowed? No wonder you need to kidnap women. Your own probably keep laughing you out of the bedroom.”
4. A hell of a lot of instalust. This book didn't rely on an internal instant connection for the main characters like some books. However within hours of accidentally being abducted, she throws herself at the purple pirate. They then proceed to spend the next 60% of the book having sex, talking about sex, or fighting so it can lead to sex. Finally about 85% a storyline line started happening, but by then it was too rushed.
This will not stop me from reading the sequel. Especially since it is the male abducted in that one.
Another lighthearted fun read from Eve Langlais. Megan has been dumped in the ocean by her boyfriend. She is just about to drown when she is picked up by an alien taking sea life to sell on other planets. Tren is a retired mercenary feared through out the galaxy. He can't decide whether to kill her or sell her at the next planet her comes to. She is really feisty and mouthy and he is exasperated but also amused by her and he keeps putting off selling her. It was sweet to watch him falling for her.
This book doesn't take itself too seriously. It moves fast and is amusing. The relationship is sweet though. There is a definite sci fi element but that also doesn't take itself too seriously. However it does manage not to be hokey so that made me happy.
I would call this book a "romp". Recommended is you need a quick fun read.
Not bad, my first read from this author. Nice to see that she's living in my home town...Ottawa Canada. I love sci-fi erotica and this book fits right in. Megan is quite funny and I like her strong spirit and resiliency. Tren is all hot and purple...yum. I found this book a bit too short and there was no mention of Megan's life on Earth. Won't she miss her family, what about her job. There is also no discussion about unprotected sex or possible offspring. Love the concept but need more details please.
The first book in the series Alien Abduction by Eve Langlais. Just a fun, totally mindless read. I liked it for what it is. Human female and purple alien. What an interesting combination for sure. Not a lot in the plot department but still I got to have a few laughs and some steam.
O no?
2 stars. Ick. For me, there’s nothing hot about a hero who has literally fucked everyone & keeps trophies of the “best lovers” that he flaunts. If not for all the details of his past lovers, this book would have been a lot more tolerable. There were even a few funny moments... the heroine was fun and feisty overall.
Safety is fine besides what I mentioned above
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This was a very good story. I liked both Tren and Megan. Their story was fun and entertaining.
Megan is a good woman with really bad luck with men. She tends to say whatever she's thinking and have had people tell her it's not a good trait but it's just the way she is and hopes to find a man that would accept her for her. When her most recent boyfriend tries killing her for money, it leads to an abduction by an alien who is planning to sell her as a sex slave. Not an encouraging turn of events.
Tren is an alien and known as the greatest mercenary in the known Universe. He decided to retire (as people in his line of work don't live long lives) and now has a business doing acquisitions. This mostly includes (at least on this trip) Tren going to planets and and "levitaing" a part of the ocean and the creatures within it in to his ship for transport to somewhere they can be sold. He never intended to also "catch" a human barbarian woman that would try to make his life hell.
Megan is on a yacht in the middle of the ocean with her current boyfriend when he "accidentally" hip bumps her in to the ocean...and then proceeds to laugh at her when she tries to get help. It soon becomes apparent that he has been planning to kill her for her money and she's left floating in the middle of nowhere in the ocean. Just when she's very tired and close to drowning, she sees a light above her and is shocked when the section of the ocean that she's in, floats up and in to an alien spacecraft. While trying to get to safety, she ends up hurt on the ship and that's when Tren finds her. Tren has no clue how he got a female on his ship but decides he'll sell her for whatever he can get for her at the next slave market. He gets her fixed up but when she wakes up, he doubts his decision to keep her around because she is annoying and doesn't fear him like she should...but yet he can't seem to bring himself to just kill her and put her out of his misery. Despite their dislike for each other, there's a strong attraction that's hard to ignore.
Megan tries to deny her attraction to Tren and act like it doesn't exist but this changes when she get drunk on alien wine that knocks her for a loop. She becomes slut-girl and lures Tren to bed with her and then passes out after an orgasm but before they get past foreplay. After that, Megan and Tren start a kind of back and forth relationship when they express annoyance or anger at each other and pelt each other with jibes and it turns in to sex (fighting as foreplay). This goes on for a while and although they start to have feelings for each other, they both deny it. Tren passing by many places he could sell her but saying he wanted to take her to a market where he could get a better price. Regardless of his insistence that he doesn't care for Megan, when he shows her affection in a space station it starts up problems. Tren didn't get his reputation without making enemies and a number come out of the woodwork, trying to capture Megan to get to Tren. Megan doesn't let anyone cow her though (even when captured and it might be smarter to not act up). She doesn't actually expect Tren to come for her but he does, which makes her fall for him even more. In the end, they come clean with each other about their feelings, Megan is "officially" Tren's mate and they start their HEA.
I really enjoyed this story. Tren and Megan are both great characters and I loved how Megan was such a strong female lead and Tren accept and even appreciated her and her indomitable courage. It's a very sweet story (with hot sex scenes) and stays entertaining pretty much the whole way through. I'm planning to read the next book in the series. I'd recommend this book. Thumbs up. :)
Megan has had an eventful evening. Her boyfriend pushed her overboard and sailed off with her money, leaving her to drown. Now she finds herself abducted by an alien pirate who has another thing coming if he thinks she'll sit obediently by while he plans to auction her off as a sex slave. It would be a lot easier to be angry at him if he wasn't so wickedly handsome. Tren has grown bored of his retirement from mercenary work. He never expected his life of collecting and selling rare items would get a much needed boost of excitement when he accidentally abducts a mouthy, all too sexy earthling. As he spends more time in and out of bed with Megan, Tren's threats to sell her become less and less serious and when an enemy kidnaps her, he'll risk everything to get her back.
From the start Megan does not hold back on letting Tren, or anyone else for that matter, know what she's thinking. She won't sit back and let her be sold without a fight. Tren considers Megan and all earthlings barbarians. He believes Megan should watch how she talks to him and should be grateful he spared her life. As you can guess, these two were at odds for the entire book. The intense arguments quickly lead them into the bedroom where they work out their frustrations in other ways.
I enjoyed Megan's bravery in the situation and how she had a snarky comeback for all of Tren's commands. A docile heroine she is definitely not. I also loved that she is aware and proud of her curvy figure. I like not having to worry about female characters having body image issues and spending time complaining about it. Tren is tall, well built and even with his purple skin and pointed teeth, he sounds attractive. I think it may have been Megan comparing him to a pirate. He's used to being feared and listened to because of his bloody exploits when he was a mercenary has earned him a dangerous reputation. One Megan cares nothing about. She's keeps him on his toes and challenges him in every way.
Megan's biggest threats are the men, or alien creatures, who want to hurt Tren by taking Megan from him. This brings out some real protectiveness in Tren that leads to very hot sex, and realizations about their true feelings for one another. Their not your conventional couple but I wouldn't have enjoyed them as much if they were. My favorite quote comes when Megan is kidnapped and Tren lets her captor know he's coming to get her.
"...he loved her enough to start a galactic war. How cool was that? Nothing says I love you like blood shed and violence."
Accidental Abduction is a very quick read that packs a good story, fun characters and lots of out of this word smutty goodness. Eve Langlais has delivered yet another novella I enjoyed from start to finish. -Stephanie
This book was a lot better than I expected. Sure, it was lots of smut with a purple alien. But even though it was only 179 pages, it managed to really develop the characters and the romance. I loved Tren and Megan. You could cut the sexual tension with a knife, and their verbal sparring was like foreplay. They were so much fun together and the progress from hate to love actually felt natural.
It was also interesting how Tren was so deadly and it was not something that Megan tried to change about him. She just looked at it as a whole different world and she cannot try to force her human-like expectations onto him. It was extremely morally grey, but she loved him anyway. I look forward to reading the sequel about Tren's brother, Jaro.
This book is witty, and sexy as hell. 4 stars I loves me a book that makes me laugh out loud. 1 bonus star
This fun romp is sooo worth reading! Megan and Tren, our h/H rock the space ship in this lighthearted swashbuckling action adventure.
Read the book description for the backstory/details, it's pretty accurate. What it doesn't tell you is the potent chemistry they share. Author Eve Langlais did an outstanding job writing these characters.
