An early and well-known cartoon creation of the company, Mickey Mouse, is the official mascot of The Walt Disney Company.
I absoluetly love this book. I would recommend this book to young kids that enjoy reading and pictures. This book starts off deep in the Indian jungle where Bagheera ,a panther, comes across a baby boy. Bagheera turns the boy over to the wolves to become a man-cub. The wolves name the boy Mowgli and for ten years the wolves teach Mowgli how to be a wolf. One day Shere Khan , a tiger, returns to the jungle and Mowgli is now in danger. Mowgli must leave the wolf pack but won't listen to those who tell him to go to the man-village. Mowgli meets friends along his way in the jungle that help him out when he gets in a bad situation. This book has a good ending and also shows that you sometimes need to listen to others and allow them to help you. I have read the full version before, but I actually like the Disney version better.
Another childhood favorite - Jungle Book Disney movie and the anime TV series. After reading the original Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling, I realized that the Disney version is so much different.
"The Jungle Book", by Walt Disney Company is a book about a young boy who was found in a basket by a black panther named Bagheera. He took the baby to a pack of wolves who raised him until he was ten years old. He learned a lot of lessons along the way.
This story is about a boy named Mowgli. It begins with him as a baby and continues through adolescence. He faces a lot of trials and tribulations along the way. Bagheera follows him along his journey to make sure he stays safe. Some of the issues he faces are; He's constantly being hunted by Shere Khan, a tiger. He couldn't find a home because no one wanted him around as long as he's being sought after by Shere Khan. He tried to live with Baloo, a giant bear, but it didn't work out because some monkeys came and took him. After the monkeys captured him, Baloo realized it would never work to keep him. He would be best off in the "man village". Mowgli didn't like the idea so he ran away. After he ran away, he ran into Shere Khan in the jungle. Shere Khan had been waiting for this opportunity so he decided to make a game of it. He counted to ten and let Mowgli run. When he finished counting, lightning struck. Shere Khan was afraid of the fire it created so he ran away. After all this happened he met up with a "girl cub" who was human, like him and he moved into the village.
Mowgli is a rambunctious ten year old who doesn't want to do what adults think is best for him. Baloo is an overgrown bear who finds joy in life and doesn't let burdens weigh him down. Shere Khan is a tiger who is mad at all humans because he was once shot by a hunter. Bagheera is a black panther who followed Mowgli throughout his journey to ensure his safety.
This story takes place over a ten year period. Mowgli lives in different parts of the Indian jungle. He starts out in a wolf den and goes to the inner parts of the jungle from there. He also goes to the City of Ruins to be with the monkeys for awhile. The story ends as he goes into the "man village".
The theme is that it's better to listen to your superiors. They know what's best for you and are there to help. Mowgli chose to not listen to those around him who had his best interest at heart. Because of that, he endured a lot of hardships.
I would recommend this book to children because they could learn to listen to their elders and people who love them.
This story is about a baby named Mowgli that is found in a jungle by Bagheera. Mowgli is being raised by a pack of wolves. They later find out the king of the jungle Shere Khan has returned and they need to get Mowgli to safety. So there only way to get him to safety is to take him to what they call a man village where there is people that will take care of Mowgli.
In this story the main character is Mowgli. He is a young child that was left in the jungle and found by the next character I will be talking about. The character that saves Mowgli is Bagheera a black panther that spends time with Mowgli ,when he is not with the wolf pack. Baheera teaches Mowgli how to survive in the jungle as well. The last character is Shere Khan. Shere Khan is the king of the jungle and everyone is scared of him and that is why Mowgli has to be taken to safety or Shere Khan might kill him.
This story takes place in the late 1800s when there wasn't much advanced modern technology. The main location this story takes place is in the jungle where Mowgli was found and eventually raised. Another location that Mowgli is taken to is the Lost Ruined City where the monkeys take him and try to make Mowgli teach them how to make fire. He doesn't end up teaching them to make fire because he escapes from them but the runs into Shere Khan where later on lighting hits a tree and starts fire and Mowgli scares Sher Khan with it and then escapes to the man village.
The author in this book tries to show you how if you're an outsider people still will care for you. If the animals wouldn't have taken care of Mowgli he would have died because of his young age at the time. The author also tries to show you that sometimes you need to have drastic changes for your well being.
This story is a great classic book for young readers. I enjoyed this book because it was a book that was always red to me as a young child. Another reason I like this book is because it shows how strangers can treat you like family if you're good to them and they will look out for you if you do the same.
This one was so cute! I was listening to an audiobook version and it was a grandpa reading it to his granddaughter. They would talk and interact throughout. So precious. Goals for when my daughter gets older and if I have grandkids. :)
This book is a about a panther named Bagheera who discovers a baby boy named Mowgli. Bagheera then takes Mowgli to a pack of wolves. The wolves raise him up and teach him the basics. All of sudden though, they hear that Shere Khan the tiger had returned, and he wants to kill all humans. So Bagheera wants to take Mowgli to the village, but Mowgli believes the jungle is his home. Eventually Bagheera gets him to go with him and they take a very adventurous journey and meet many new characters. Every character Mowgli meets wants to take him back to the village though. This lead to many escapes by Mowgli and eventually leads him to Shere Knan. Mowgli does not back down from him and defeats him. Finally, he is helped by Bagheera again and taken safely to the village. I recommend this book to people of all ages and genders because it is an easy read that teaches many values like loyalty, honor, and courage.
Summary: This book is about a man-cub named Mowgli who is being hunted by a Tiger named Shere Khan. This whole time Baloo and Bagheera are trying to get Mowgli back to the Man-village and they run into all kinds of trouble. Mowgli gets kid napped by a monkey who is trying to learn about fire and then Bagheera and Baloo are fighting about Mowgli’s rightful place. Towards then end of the book, Mowgli heard someone signing across the river. When he went to see what it was, he saw a pretty girl sitting at the edge of the river getting water. When she gets up to leave, Mowgli finds himself running after her and into the Man-village where he lived happily.
How to use this book with students: This book can be used for 1st through 3rd graders to teach them about friendship. It is also a good book to use in a read aloud and to have in your classroom library.
The jungle book has a story line of an extremely sad start and an ending that warms your heart. Mowgli is forced to flee his father Nathoo and the soldiers he was leading once they are attacked. Mowgli barely escapes and lives the rest of his life trying to avenge his fathers death. Even though he is not a real person, my heart went out to poor Mowgli when his father passed because at that age all you have is your parents. I tried numerous times to place myself in that situation and take a few steps in his shoes and I couldn't even get my shoes on to say the least. I do love all the bonds and friendships Mowgli creates with the animals throughout the novel. It creates an added "kid" touch to the book even though there is kind of a hanging grey cloud over the entire thing since his father dies at the very beginning. I love The Jungle Book and it will be one of the disney movies I show to my kids someday.
A panther finds a child in the Indian jungle, and hands him over to the wolves to raise. After raising the boy, Mowgli, a tiger named Khan comes and tries to throw him out of the jungle. The tiger wants him to go back to the "man-village", where he came from, but Mowgli is hard headed and doesn't want to leave his family. After a long journey, involving making friends with a bear and narrowly escaping a huge gorilla king, he defeats the tiger and is able to stay with the wolf pack.
This has always been an interesting story to me because the ending doesn't go how I expected. I would've figured that someone would've come to find the boy in the jungle, or he would've had more human interaction, but it only involves animals.
I don't think this would be a book I'd use in my classroom, mainly because their isn't a standard I could use with it while also teaching something valuable. It would be more of a story book to read at home.
My love of reading started when i was young, and it gives me immense pleasure to provide books to Spread the Word Nevada, an organization that passes them on to children in the community. They are a terrific organization supporting an important cause. If your local I encourage you to check them out. For those living further a field, look in your own community, their may already be a similar program in place. And if not, you can always help start on.
Myself, I go out on the weekends and shop thrift store and bulk book lots to rescue books and donate them. Sometimes I'll find a book I remember reading when I was young and will read it again before passing it on.
I don't rate these books using my normal scale, instead I give most of them three stars. This isn't a Criticism of the book, simply my way of rating them as good for children.
The jungle book is about an abandoned boy who happens to be raised by wolves. He has his peaceful existence in the jungle. However, this is potentially lost when man-eating tiger Shere Khan might come back to the jungle. Facing certain death, Mowgli the boy must leave his family and return to the odd place of men in a village. Mowgli is helped by his two best pals named by Bagheera the panther, and eventually by the bear Balloo he has to go through many adventures through the jungle. I love this book growing up and think it makes for a wonderful read aloud. I have nothing negative to say because I loved every part of it.
This story is about a boy named Mowagli. He was left in the jungle due to an unfortunate incident with his father. Mowagli is left to the wolves, who end up raising him as one of their own. He learns a lot from the wolves, a black panther, and a fun-loving bear. The enemy in this story is a tiger who wants nothing but to get rid of the wolves and Mowagli. The animals try to return Mowagli to his kind, but a lightening storm hits the jungle, and Mowagli returns to help protect his friends. The tiger is afraid of fire, and Mowagli and his friends make a plan to get rid of their enemy once and for all. I love this story because it teaches the value of friendship and supporting one another.
I read this chapter book over Video to our 3 1/2 year old granddaughter. She really liked the Elephant part where the elephants were marching and they Bagheera said "Halt" and they agreed to help look for Mowgli. She didn't like the ferocious tiger, Shere Khan, but she liked the nasty python, Kaa and King Louis as all he wanted was 'Fire'. She loved Baloo and Bagheera and when Mowgli saw the little girl for the first time.
I was truly amazed that I was able to read the book over a three day period with her, as she played with all her plastic animals making them play the parts, and the story kept her attention and she remembered all the characters.
i love the story of the jungle book, being the animal lover that i was. i had the book with the audio tape so it would guide me in my reading and help me pronounce words right. i was really disappointed back then mowgli left his animal friends for a girl. after all that they did, he chose to leave them. i wanted a real-life baloo and i use to sing to all the songs... "oh ooh be doo, i want to be like you you you.." and "look for the bare necessities, the simple bare necessities.." waaaaahh, i break out a tear looking back at those days!
A young boy named Mowgli is raised by different animals in the jungle. He learns everything from these animals and they become his family, but what happens when it's time to leave the jungle for human civilization? What will Mowgli choose?
This book is full of fantasy and fun.Talking animals and the heart warming theme of family make this an amazing children's book. The drawn pictures are bright and keep children engaged throughout the entire story. Definitely recommended for every home and classroom!
Not only one of my all time favorite childhood Disney stories, but one of my favorite stories in general. We are taken along a journey of a young boy his discovery, his unlikely animal friends and the dangers lurking afar. The book is hardcover and illustrated with screenshots from the movie. Any child endearing a lifestyle of abrupt change should appreciate whats in store when they read The Jungle Book.
The Jungle Book is a classic! There is nothing more exciting to children than to find out that a child was raised in the jungle by ANIMALS! WOW! Disney is a great opportunity to introduce in the classroom because they are fun to read, students are familiar with them, and they also provide many different problem-solving scenarios.

The thing I loved as a mother about the Golden Books is that they were easy to pop into a diaper bag so we could read wherever we were going. This, I have to admit, was one of my personal favorites because it reminded me of my first crush on someone ever: Mowgli!
A fun book that I've had since childhood. I love the story of a boy growing up around animals. The plot is detailed and enjoyable. It is one of the books that adults and children can still enjoy for the same reasons!
I recommend this book to any one who has a kid at heart. This book is great for little kids. I would recommend this book to anyone under 16 and any one over 4 years old! This book is a great book and I reccomend this book to anyone. I loved this book so much!
This book will keep interest of students because it involves many animals and an unusual living environment for the main character. It can also be used for a science lesson of jungle animals. I chose this book for the level of reading it takes and it is most likely a familiar story.
3.15.2017 What a delightful story! Mogli's self-reliance is a good example of what might happen in an emergency. But then Mowgli grew up a bit and realized he needed the companionship of other humans.
9.22.2016 Ryan was glad that Mogli scared away the tiger with fire.
