This book is what it says it is, a simple read if you want to learn about psychology. Goes into details that an intro to psych class goes into. Good for a review of intro to psych, but if you really want to learn the subject matter, then you'd be better off taking a class.

Great reference book. Simplified descriptions and list of methods and psychology terms. It has good review quizzes at the end of each chapter and suggested reading.
