I saw another review do this, but I totally agree:![]()
The pedestal upon which women have been placed has all too often, upon closer inspection, been revealed as a cage.Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a modern woman before her time.
Sometimes people say unkind or thoughtless things, and when they do, it is best to be a little hard of hearing—to tune out and not snap back in anger or impatience. Her gentle but instant manner instituted lifelong change for all women living in America.
“Real change, enduring change, happens one step at a time.”Whether it be legal access to birth control or the right to equal pay, she was there, every step of the way.
For some reason, people repeatedly have asked RBG when she thought there would be enough women on the court. The question is asinine, her answer effective: 'When there are nine.”Overall, I was stunned by the story but not the actual book.
“So now the perception is, yes, women are here to stay. And when I’m sometimes asked when will there be enough [women on the Supreme Court]? And I say when there are nine, people are shocked. But there’d been nine men, and nobody’s ever raised a question about that.”
“Women will only have true equality when men share with them the responsibility of bringing up the next generation.”
Ruth Bader Ginsburg
