Russian Law is book one of Law series by Camille Taylor. Lucas Gates was assigned a case of the death of Russian Intelligence agent on American soil. Lucas Gates investigations lead him to Moscow where he seeks help from Elena Ivanova. However, Lucas Gates and Elena Ivanova uncover a terrorist plot which causes then both to go on the run. The readers of Russian Law will continue to follow the twists and turns in Luca Gates and Elena Ivanova investigation to find out what happens.

Russian Law is another fantastic book by Camille Taylor. I love Camille Taylor portrayal of her characters and the way they intertwine with each other throughout this book. Russian Law is an enjoyable book to read, and I engaged with the plot from the first page. I like Camille Taylor description of the settings of this book that allows me to imagine living in Moscow. Russian Law is well written and research by Camille Taylor.

The readers of Russian Law will learn about living in Moscow. The readers will understand the role of an inter-agency liaison officer.

I recommend this book.

Russian Law is book 1 in Camille Taylor’s Law Series and was an adrenalin pumping, action packed, engrossing, suspense filled read that I read from cover to cover in one sitting.

Six months after a Russian Intelligence agent is murdered, Lucas Gates is sent to Moscow in pursuit of a terrorist.

Lucas a former cop and now a CIA agent, isn’t known for playing well with others. He uses any means necessary and avoids relationships he can’t simply walk away from—until he meets Russian liaison officer Elena Ivanova, the widow of the murdered agent.

Elena follows the rules, so she accepts her role as Lucas’s liaison officer…a job nobody else wanted.

After finally being reinstated after a short suspension related to her husband’s death, Elena realizes Lucas might be just the one to help her uncover what really happened.

Faced with a terrorist for hire, a black market dealer, and a mole within the intelligence community, Lucas finds himself on the run, alone in a foreign country wanted for murder. Lucas has no choice but to pursue the one person he trusts…Elena…ultimately he knows this is a dangerous mission and could compromise Elena’s safety but he has no other option.

With the help of some questionable contacts and Elena’s brother Dmitry, they uncover a heinous terrorist plot which could have catastrophic consequences on a global scale if successful.

Can Lucas find the answers Elena seeks? Can they save the world? Will their lives be put in danger? Or will they find themselves on the wrong side of the law?

I have to admit I wasn’t expecting much from this book especially after reading the reviews but instead discovered in my opinion a hidden gem of a story that flowed with ease, had depth and was well researched. Told in multiply narratives but mainly Lucas and Elena’s, I found them likeable, well rounded and with personality.

After never reading anything prior to Russian Law by this author I fully intend to read her other works. Ms Taylor captured everything I like about a good crime/suspense read and felt she didn’t “sell out” the plot by filling it with more romance than the angst and suspense. I’m sure as Lucas and Elena’s story develops so will the natural progression of their “relationship”. Overall a truly enjoyable read which I would recommend to readers who enjoy a crime/suspense reads.

Stilted writing.

This book was very difficult to get into because the writing is boring. There is no feeling or emotion in anything. I also struggled with the fact that almost all of the vehicles mentioned in Russia were American made cars when they are such a small part of the market there. Overall, with there being no resolution for Elena and Lucas as well as no real substance, this one was not worth the read for me.

Lucas Gates is a CIA agent who doesn't play well with others. Elena is a Russian liaison who follows the rules. She's just been reinstated after being suspended related to her husband's murder. She's chosen to be the liaison for Lucas, as no one else wants that chore. Elena realizes that Lucas just may be the one to help her find out what happened to her husband. When Lucas is set up, he and Elena go on the run. Will they find the mole's plan before it's too late?

I had a hard time at first with all the different people, but once I got farther into the story, it picked up speed. A exciting, intense, and well written storyline flows smoothly. Twists and turns around every corner made for fantastic OMG moments. Overall, I really enjoyed this story, and excited to read the rest after being left hanging like I was.

CIA agent Lucas Gates doesn't play by the rules, which always lands him in trouble, but he gets the job done. Russian liaison officer, Elena is recovering from her husband’s death. She’s a stickler for rules, until American, Lucas, gets involved in all manner of problems. Rules fly out the window in a very short time. Lucas disappears then lands on her doorstep with propositions. Thrills and spills, a car chase, men with guns who are more than ready to use them, not to mention the freezing Russian weather. There’s so much happening to keep you riveted. The plot flows, the writing is smooth and easy to follow.
The banter between the protagonists endeared me to both Elena and Lucas.

I know this book was full of action and very emotional with everything going on with life changing danger.
the two main characters Lucas and Elena well done. they had me laughing my butt off how they went at each other
both of the being very up beat with danger around them at every corner.
I really like Elena brother!

will Lucas make it in russian when everything goes wrong? can he find out you did the crimes and who is behind it all?
Elena get over her passing of her husband who was murder? will she find out the truth on what happen?
can elena move one let lucas in her heart after everything that happen between them?
