✨ARC Review✨

I am absolutely OBSESSED with this series😩

I stumbled upon this series by Jennifer through book sirens and the reason it piqued my interest was it mixed the mafia and vampire element. Now at first I questioned how would this work but Jennifer made it work so well, and my attention has been captured ever since.

This is the second book in the Wardman Chronicle Series and it picks up right after the events of book 1.

Tragedy, heartbreak and loss are the opening words to the blurb of this book and they couldn’t be more accurate. Many times I wanted to jump into the pages of this book and just hug Lilith 😭

My heart broke for Dominic so many times throughout this book also. He actions frustrated me at times especially in regards to his behaviour towards Lilith but it is understandable due to the weight that was thrusted on to his shoulder due to a certain event that occurred in this book. I will not disclose this event in my review because I want to keep it spoiler free✨

What I adored so much about this book is how Lilith stood with Dom throughout his hardships😭

If I could describe this book it would be emotional rollercoaster, my emotions were all over the place. The one thing I will say is I wasn’t expecting monumental events to hit in the earlier chapters, this took me completely off guard (which I loved btw). I honestly couldn’t put this book down, I binged this book in one sitting👀

Thank you so much to the author for providing this e-arc for my honest thoughts, and I look forward to reading more about Lilith and Doms journey in the future 🖤

ARC Review!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
If you Like mafia and vampires, this is definitely a must-read. I had the honor of ARC reading the first book last year and fell in love with it. When I found out there was a book 2, I had to read it. A few things: I would have liked to have seen Dominic's POV, and what his thought process was throughout the book. Some areas were a little slow, which I feel is why it took me a little extra time to finish the book. I am happy the character got their HEA.

Boogeyman in the Shadows takes place right after the end of The Past that haunts. Lilith is dealing with the aftermath of what went down with Fabio. Losing Nadia was like losing her parents all over again. She wasn't coping with it very well, even to the point she was put in the hospital.

Lilith soon finds out that she is pregnant, which is why she's been feeling the way she has. When Dominic learns of the news, he doesn't take it very well. He ends up walking out of the hospital room, leaving Lilith to deal with it. When Hector, the head of the family, learns of the news. He is not pleased and demands that Lilith get rid of it. Dominic even agrees with Hector. This made me want to throw hands at both of them, trying to force her to do something against her wishes. It actually made me very disappointed in Dominic.

Soon after, Hector is killed, and to be honest, I didn't feel bad for him. After Hector's death, Dominic's long-lost mother shows up, then a new baddie named Vincent (much worse than Fabio) who wants Dominic's throne. During this time, Lilith tries to convince Dominic to reconsider on the fact they were having a baby. It takes Dominics a little bit of time to warm to the idea of having a baby because he feels he'll be just like Lorenzo, his father. Lilith does everything to convince him he's nothing like Lorenzo. As time passes, Dominics warms to the idea of being a father.

I feel that if Hector were still alive, Dominic still wouldn't be on board with Lilith having a baby. So, with Hector gone, Dominic is able to have the life he deserves.

After the battle with Vincent, Lilith, and Dominic are looking forward to having their little bundle of joy.

Wow, I was absolutely astounded reading this book it was fantastic, this story was so mesmerising and these characters were absolutely captivating. This story was about the Vampires and Mafia, Lilith and Dominic, these two just found out about some news Dominic even walked out he needed time to think. Hector dies now Dominic is the head of the family. Their enemies want what Dominic has and they will do anything to have it. Can Dominic and his men to protect Lilith, and his mum and neice.

*spoiler free review*

OMG , what a rollercoaster of emotions! I couldn't wait to get my hands on book #2 and I finished it in two days! It picks up right where book 1 left off, and we're back in the paranormal mafia world with Lilith and Dominic.

I loved Lilith even more (if that's possible) in this book and the growth we see in her character. She's faced with some serious life decisions and I could feel her struggle to pick the right path. And Dominic... I have to say, I did want to punch him a time or two and yell at him for some of his decisions, but it's impossible not to fall in love (again) with his dark and broody personality regardless.

I was sitting on the edge of my seat through most of the book, especially the last chapters, rushing through the pages because I was eager to see how the situation with Vincent is going to resolve.

This was an amazing 5* read for me. Can't wait to see what Jennifer has in store for us with book 3.

LOVED!! Boogeyman in the Shadows gave me so many feels!

Jennifer likes to make her characters hurt (and me by reading what they go through lol), but there are both sad and wonderful surprises and twists that I wish I could gush over, but I don’t want to spoil anything! I loved how Dom and Lilith’s relationship was put to the test and strengthened, but sometimes I just really wanted to reach through the page and give Dom a proper slap! I understand his feelings and viewpoint about some of the things that happened, even though he didn’t always handle those things in the best way. I felt so bad for Lilith so many times. I love how she became stronger and developed more as a character in this sequel too and I can’t wait to see her in the next!

Overall a fantastic read and I’d highly recommend it.
