Oct 10, 2024
Read 2 times. Last read October 4, 2024 to October 10, 2024.
2.5 stars
I think the concept of a novel about nurses in Vietnam is great. Yet the execution of this book was poor. There are so many cliches in the book.
I was not able to connect emotionally with Frankie, nor with most of the characters in the book. Perhaps Henri was the character I resonated with the most.
I have an uncle who was a prisoner of war in Vietnam, so I have first hand knowledge of some aspects of this war.
I just don't get the hype for this book.
