ALTERNATE LIST:
*Titles exclude leading articles like A, An, The)
❀Each number corresponds with the spot on the board.
Colors: The cover has to be at least 50%
Locations: As long as the book takes part at all in the given location .
Shelves: Any book on the given shelf
Publication Years: I'll be using how GR has it's publication date listed.
Authors Names: The first, middle, or last name of the author is ok.
Cover Items: Must have the given item on the cover
Titles: Only the first word of the title. A, An, And, and The do not count.
So if the letter is B: The Best Day would be ok. Dear Betty would not be ok.

Camilla (cyqua) Hi team!
I'm Camilla from Denmark, but living in Belgium currently. I'm 36 and mostly read fantasy and literary fiction, but am open to most things :-)
I haven't played a team challenge for ages, but am really excited to get started :-)

message 6: by Annika (new)

Annika Hi everyone!
I'm Annika from southern Sweden.
I love team challenges and usually sign up for way too many of them.
I read a lot of different genres, but they all tend to have some form of romance in them.

message 7: by Iris (new)

Iris (irislovesreading) Hi everyone, I'm Iris and I'm from The Netherlands. I love reading fantasy, young-adult, thrillers and a lot of other stuff. I'm open to new genres and I just love reading haha. I participated in the SSS last year but that was a little too much. It was kind of stressfull, haha.

message 8: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (cyqua) Hi Annika and Iris!
Looks like we're quite the international team :-)

message 9: by Iris (new)

Iris (irislovesreading) Hi Camilla and Annikka, yes we're very international haha. I'm 19 years old btw.

message 10: by Kelsi (last edited May 27, 2017 04:16PM) (new)

Kelsi | 148 comments Hi everyone! I'm hoping this is where I'm meant to be...my name is spelled wrong but I don't see it listed elsewhere so I will just go with it!

To add to the international feel, I'm from Canada :) my favorite genres are fantasy, paranormal, and ya, but I read a pretty diverse mix. I also have a serious addiction to challenges!

Annika We really are spread out all over the world! :)
Anyone feel like being a captain?
Ideas for a team name?

message 13: by Kelsi (new)

Kelsi | 148 comments I would prefer not to be captain. I am moving on June 15 so have a bit too much on my plate right now.

As for name, maybe something to show our international theme?

message 14: by Iris (new)

Iris (irislovesreading) Hmm I'm Going to think about a team name it has to do something with 7 right?

message 15: by Annika (new)

Annika 7 books to heaven?

We can choose whichever name we like, it doesn't need to be related to anything 7.

message 16: by Iris (new)

Iris (irislovesreading) Maybe Globetrotters is a Nice name? Or lucky number 7?

message 17: by Iris (new)

Iris (irislovesreading) I also like 7 books to heaven!!

message 18: by Kelsi (new)

Kelsi | 148 comments 7 Books to Heaven or Globetrotters are my favorites! :)

message 19: by Krissy (new)

Krissy (krissystewart) | 3693 comments I don't mind being captain since I've been captain before. And I like Globetrotters since we are from all around the globe :)

message 20: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (cyqua) I really like the Globetrotters as well :-) I'd prefer not to be captain, but am happy to help with anything needed.

message 21: by Iris (new)

Iris (irislovesreading) I don't feel like being captain either, so I guess Krissy will be our captain then?

message 22: by Annika (new)

Annika I'm all for Krissy as captain and globetrotters :)

message 23: by Krissy (new)

Krissy (krissystewart) | 3693 comments I guess I'm your captain then :)

Is everyone good with Globetrotters being our name?

message 24: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (cyqua) Perfect, thanks Krissy! :-)

message 25: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (cyqua) Btw, I just wanted to mention that while I am all for trying to get the extra bonus points (might come in very handy), I very much doubt that I will be able to complete the one about never reading the alternative book, as I don't read THAT many series. I am of course happy to try as best I can, but realistically it might be tricky. Hope that's OK :-)

message 26: by Krissy (new)

Krissy (krissystewart) | 3693 comments Bonus points are nice but not mandatory. The most important thing is just to have fun! So don't worry about the bonus points. If we earn some that's great! If not then no worries :)

message 27: by Iris (new)

Iris (irislovesreading) I really like Globetrotters :) I'm also probably going to pick a lot of the alternatives haha. But for the others I could try to manage something, but it's for fun :)

message 28: by Annika (new)

Annika I agree with Krissy, challenges are supposed to be fun and not force unwanted books on us :)

message 29: by Petya (new)

Petya | 234 comments Hi, I'm Petya and I am from Bulgaria. Sorry I didn't join in sooner but I just graduated High school so I was a little busy with prom (^○^) I am cool with whatever you decide for a name and captain. :)

message 30: by Kelsi (new)

Kelsi | 148 comments Thanks for volunteering Krissy! :)

I also will probably have trouble with never reading an alternate so glad we aren't pressuring too much with that one!

As I Am (Rags and Riches Book 8) by E.M. Leya
As I Am
Read: June 4
Rating: 3 stars
How it fits: #8 in series

Review:
It's funny how for some books I need to be able to believe in the plot and the characters, believe that there is some credibility to the story being told, I order for me to enjoy it and not spend all my time rolling my eyes or shouting at it. While other books can be utterly unbelievable and I just take them for what they are - a story, someone's fantasy, and I just go along and enjoy the ride.

This one was like that, completely unbelievable and with too perfect characters (a pet peeve of mine). But that didn't bother me much while reading (now however is another story - never think too much about what you read sometimes).

What did bother me while reading it was the insta-love. I mean come on, you just met, one of you is basically living on the street and the other a famous singer and you take him on a tour? yeah...not happening.

I also felt like there was much potential for a deeper plot I mean I would've liked to see Ky's past being resolved more. There is every possibility for it to come bite him in the ass, especially when stepping out in the lime light. And what happened when his past was revealed to the public?

Sadly we never got those answers and the book ended up more on the shallower side of the pond. (And honestly just what I needed right now)
