Alan Baker (alanbaker) | 9 comments Hi Jim. You might like to take a look at my Blackwood & Harrington Mystery novels. The first is entitled THE MARTIAN AMBASSADOR, the second is THE FEASTER FROM THE STARS, and I'm currently writing the third, THE GODS OF ATLANTIS. They're published by Snowbooks of London, and are available from Amazon.co.uk. You might find them of interest. Best wishes, Alan

Have you seen the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences books? I would qualify them as Adventures.

The books in the series are Phoenix Rising and The Janus Affair.

I've got a bunch of Steampunk books in my reading pile. Will check back when I manage to get some of them read.

Lindsay Kitson (lindsay_kitson) | 10 comments Blightcross is just out a few months ago, and fits all of that - there's strong female characters and no romance at all - adventure all the way. Not so much airships, but lots of Steampunk/Dieselpunk trappings.

Joseph | 19 comments I'd also recommend Stephen Hunt's series that started with The Court of the Air. There are six books, all relatively standalone -- my personal favorite was probably The Kingdom Beyond the Waves, which was kind of a steampunk take on an H. Rider Haggard lost civilization adventure.
