Have you seen the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences books? I would qualify them as Adventures.
The books in the series are Phoenix Rising and The Janus Affair.
I've got a bunch of Steampunk books in my reading pile. Will check back when I manage to get some of them read.

Blightcross is just out a few months ago, and fits all of that - there's strong female characters and no romance at all - adventure all the way. Not so much airships, but lots of Steampunk/Dieselpunk trappings.
I'd also recommend Stephen Hunt's series that started with The Court of the Air. There are six books, all relatively standalone -- my personal favorite was probably The Kingdom Beyond the Waves, which was kind of a steampunk take on an H. Rider Haggard lost civilization adventure.
