- Anabel (Lisa Martinek) apparently has everything a woman could want: a well-paid husband Dirk (Tim Bergmann), a nice apartment, good friends and an antique shop to keep her busy. The only thing missing is a child, but she can't have one because she accidentally finds out that her husband is sterile. She keeps her husband in the dark about her discovery of his shortcoming, who on the contrary assumes Anabel is incapable of conceiving. One day her pragmatic friend Lissi (Antje Schmidt) comes up with the idea that Anabel could get impregnated by another man and lie to her husband about the paternity of the child. After some initial hesitation Anabel decides to go through with Lissi's idea and thus enter Clemens (Fritz Karl), the new man in her life. A forbidden affair ensues and in the excitement of this whirlwind romance, Anabel no longer yearns for a child. She is on cloud nine and realises what she had been missing all along in her marriage with Dirk. But her double life is short-lived when she finds out that she is pregnant with her lover's child. She is thrilled about giving birth to the baby, but is caught in a dilemma between her lover and her husband; who should she chose to raise the child with? She doesn't want to hurt her husband Dirk by telling him the truth, while at the same time cannot let go of her lover Clemens, who has become an important part of her life.

But Brazil is not for beginners: Funny circumstances drive him to teach music to the young inmates of a juvenile detention center. Bach's music and Brazilian instruments mix perfectly. - Dr. Sommerfeld is torn between two attractive women: Both Dr. Irene Kürschner, with whom he works brilliantly in the shared practice at Bülowbogen despite occasional atmospheric disturbances, as well as the successful and elegant PR agent Nora Hansen covet the likeable doctor. While Sommerfeld keeps losing his rhythm during his hot dance at two weddings, his daughter Nina tells him that she finally wants to move out. On Nora's advice, Sommerfeld tries to lock Nina in a golden cage by renting an apartment directly opposite over her head. When Nina gets wind of the matter, she runs away. At first insulted, then horrified and increasingly frightened, Sommerfeld sets out to search - and is surprised to learn that he doesn't actually know his daughter. When he finally finds her again in Meißen after a real odyssey, Nina drops the real bombshell: she is pregnant, but stubbornly refuses to give the name of the child's father. Sommerfeld, as always a man of action, takes the two potential son-in-law aspirants seriously - of course again without Nina's knowledge. But then suddenly a third candidate, Irene's son Benjamin, comes into play completely unexpectedly. At some point it all becomes too much for Sommerfeld - luckily he still has his best friend Luca, with whom he quickly jumps onto the motorcycle and flees. But on the way, Luca has to make a very embarrassing confession to his friend.

- From Time Out Film Guide Beatt's first feature centres on a staggering performance from Swinton: part Diva, part Harpy, part woman struggling to cope and make sense of it all. She plays Queenie, married to a German and living in Germany; the marriage has reached one of its periodic crises, and Queenie's way out of the impasse is to throw a big all-night party. During it, she humiliates her husband by flirting with a handsome French stranger (Atkine). She succeeds in making a drama out of a crisis. Shot in steely monochrome, this is a small triumph for high-concept film-making. It's structured as a flow of vignettes, with an ever-changing cast of party guests in the background; dozens of people get their minute or two of prominence, but everything turns around the central triangle of wife, husband and potential lover. The only real weakness is the dialogue, far too much of which is quoted from literature and poetry. But the grasp of mood and rhythm is spot on. Author: TR, Time Out Film Guide
