- A priest who left his cheating wife (Mikko Nousiainen) moves with his school-aged son to a small town in Kainuu, where he plans to start a new life. The beginning, however, is not very rosy when the reception in the small community turns out to be cold, to say the least. The apartment that was supposed to be furnished is empty. The father immediately becomes the talk of the other members of the congregation and the son is being bullied at school. The situation begins to escalate, and very suddenly the continuation of life in a new community seems hopeless. "Time Out" is a heightened depiction of reality, an extreme story in which serious drama and equally serious black humor go hand in hand.
- Alma de Sant Pere is about the clash between "tradition" and "progress", between what is morally acceptable and what is acceptable to the law of profit and benefit, between the dream of having the first million before turning 30 and the reality that working, nobody becomes a millionaire.
- After being struggling to finish his ninth book, an irrelevant author decides to try change his methods.
- Mystery not whodunnit, but how/'whydunnit', with a Father seeking reason for his estranged son's death, by way of his last relationships, all overseen by his 'ghostly' presence.
- Dr. Maria is trying to get the six Syrian women she rescued in Beirut to Finland. The women are family members and relatives of Mary's ex-husband.
- A bunch of thirties plus who are more or less desperately trying to get a grip on their lives, looking for the right relationship, the most satisfying job, financial stability, and answers to the existentialism.
