- This film is inspired by the Scopes Monkey Trial of 1925, regarding the restriction of teaching evolution in Tennessee public schools. Told through the relationship between two reporters covering the legal proceedings and community reaction, it draws from actual articles and the transcript of the trial itself. The film aims to confront America's history of privilege, separatism and extremist dogma, issues that are still prevalent today. 100 years later and we are going backward.
