In spite of spending extensive time pursuing stunt and commercial work as a Parkour athlete, Dunlap claims his intention was always to use Parkour as a tool for jump starting an acting career. After he landed a role in
Grimm (2011), Dunlap said, "It made me realize I didn't need Parkour or a special 'in' to be an actor. I realized I could just act and find success through focusing on the craft.".
