Recensione in evidenza
I went into this expecting a standard dramatic thriller and left with my mind blown. Self Isolated is way more than a thriller. It's a love story, it's a mystery, it's a drama, it's a thriller with a little bit of action in there also. Mostly, it's way better and way more than I thought I'd see. I dare say I loved it.
Susan awakens from a coma and is all alone. She's hooked up to machines and she's not sure what has happened or where her husband is. Her memory of what got her into this situation is foggy at best and she has quick flashbacks that provide some clues.
As she begins her search for answers she encounters a neighbor named Walter who takes a peculiar interest in Susan. It's obvious he knows something but isn't telling, and Susan knows it too. So begins a sneaky game of cat and mouse as Susan looks for answers while trying to dodge Walter. Both performers are excellent, and the tension is palpable, especially when Walter shows up uninvited.
I don't want to give anything away, but there is a lot of symbolism in this movie. The story has a lot of layers, and a remarkable twist which makes me want to go back and watch it again, because the director has sprinkled subtle clues throughout the movie that only fully come to bear at the end.
The movie does a great job of capturing all the human emotions and making you feel them as well. It's a touching film and really well done that I am going to watch again.
