I have to admit that the synopsis for the 2023 horror movie "Night of the Caregiver" sounded interesting, and I had read some okay things about the movie somewhere online. And thus, I opted to sit down and watch "Night of the Caregiver".
Oh boy, this was a boring movie. Writers Craig Hamann and Alexander Nevsky failed to produce a properly enjoyable or entertaining script and storyline for the movie. And while I did manage to sit through all 77 minutes that the movie ran for, I found very little to be entertained at, much less to enjoy in the movie. And it was a rather dull horror experience, to be bluntly honest.
And I have to admit that I am rather surprised with what passes as being horror in this day and age. Apparently "Night of the Caregiver" was supposed to be a horror movie. Well, sure, if you consider absolute boredom to be scary, then by all means.
I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, and that is usually something I enjoy when I sit down to watch a movie. However, the actresses and actors in "Night of the Caregiver" virtually had nothing to work with in terms of script, storyline, dialogue or character gallery.
Visually then you're not in for anything memorable. The movie makes use of a couple of practical effects, which comes off looking like Halloween props and costumes more than actual creature designs.
If you enjoy horror movies, as I do, do yourself a favor and give director Joe Cornet's 2023 movie "Night of the Caregiver" a wide berth. It just simply isn't worth the effort, time or money.
My rating of "Night of the Caregiver" lands on a two out of ten stars.
