I saw BRIX AND THE BITCH at the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema 2016 in January. Amazingly, it took the "Best of Festival" award, the first time in the 7 years of the festival that a short had won the prize. It also took home a number of other awards that night...deservedly so.
I felt compelled to write about the film because I was so impressed. The acting, direction, editing, etc was all so tight and intense that I feel I must promote the very cool people who made it. I talked with Dre Swain, or "The Bitch," after one of the screenings and she told me her prep for the role was the hardest thing she'd ever done in her life. This kind of preparation for a 10 minute long film is unheard of. Props to her and the rest of the ensemble for kicking ass! Nico Raineau is a good guy too, and very talented. Can't wait to see what's next from him!
From one filmmaker to another...congratulations team Brix!
See this film however you can!
