Intoxicated by his newfound invulnerability to the daylight, Grayson dares to deny his curse and regain his humanity. Renfield is dispatched to Budapest to acquire a mysterious and long sought after relic on his employer's behalf. Harker discovers Grayson manipulated him into slandering General Shaw and strategizes on how to seek his revenge...eventually aiding The Order of The Dragon in compromising Grayson's demonstration of his technology.

Meanwhile, Louisiana Governor Truman Burrell vows open season on vampires. Jessica returns to Compton Place as Jason hitches a ride with an eerie stranger.

A long-lost relative reveals himself to Jason and Sookie. After Tara is victimized by a new government weapon, Eric takes matters into his own hands in an effort to thwart Burrell's anti-vampire initiatives. On the road to work, Sookie is drawn to a handsome stranger who shares her faerie abilities. Sam is unnerved by supernatural-rights zealot Nicole, and is confronted by Alcide and Martha about Emma's future. Bill contemplates the scope of his heightened powers.

Det. Kennex and Dorian investigate Simon, a psychopathic killer who is strapping bombs to his victims' neck and broadcasting their final moments over the internet. Meanwhile, a power deficiency affects Dorian's energy level, causing him to have unexpected outbursts.

Sameen, Harold, and Arthur make their escape. Root is captured and tortured. The others go to recover Arthur's back up hard drives but are caught in the crossfire when Vigilance arrives to claim them for themselves to expose Samaritan.

Irate over Burrell's blatant aggression towards vampires, Eric takes matters into his own hands. After dangerously testing the limits of his powers, Bill enlists a TruBlood innovator to synthesize a new type of blood - but has difficulty finding the right donor. Sookie begins to learn why Warlow is after her. Sam receives unexpected help from Nicole and her Vampire Unity Society (V.U.S.) associates. Steve Newlin finds his past ideals turning into a current nightmare.

Sookie confronts her attraction to Ben by inviting him to dinner; Eric counters Burrell's brutal anti-vampire initiatives by hitting him where it hurts the most; Andy's faerie daughters keep dangerous company; Bill gives Takahashi the task of synthesizing a new kind of blood.

Sam comes to a decision he hopes will be in Emma's best interest. Andy gives his faerie daughter a name, or two or three or four. Arlene has a solution to Terry's malaise, and Eric makes a startling discovery.

Eric pledges allegiance to Bill in a last-resort effort to save Nora. A tragedy close to home forces Sam to ignore Alcide's warning and return to Bon Temps. Jessica shows her gratitude to James while Sarah exacts a measure of revenge on Jason.

Grayson and Van Helsing have a falling out following the cancellation of their public demonstration. This leads Van Helsing to quickly seek revenge against Mr. Browning and his family. Harker discovers that Grayson has been playing him for a fool and forbids Mina from seeing him. With this new information, Mina focuses her attention on her schooling only to be attacked by Lord Davenport's men. Once Harker realizes it's Davenport who orchestrated the attack, he responds with murder. Meanwhile, Lady Jane learns that the legendary Dracula is back in London.

Megan throws Don a surprise birthday party, the war between Pete Campbell and Roger Sterling intensifies, and new mother Joan begins to wonder if she still has a job when she's ready to come back.

Megan is hurt by Don's negative response to the surprise party, Lane finds a missing wallet in a cab, Joan makes an unexpected visit to the office, and Pete makes a play for a bigger office.
