Film Adaptions Round 3A: Pulitzer Winners for Fiction
Which film adaption of Pulitzer Prize winner for fiction is the best. This is the 1st part of a 2 part poll with the 3B is about Pulitzer Prize winners for Drama (Plays). (May do one on Pulitzer Prize winning Biographies of which I know some were made into films.) The source is Encyclopedia Britannica’s article on Pulitzer Prize Winners. The list will be done chronologically by the year the work won the prize. (Near the end, I started to run out of room after “The Fixer” and went for the ones I knew were made into films.) If the film has the same title as the book, I won’t retype the title, just the year it won and the author. But if the titles are different, I will type in the title of the book too. (I’m doing this to eliminate titles when I start doing rounds based on classic literature alphabetically by author’s name because some winners wrote works that didn’t win the prize but are better known than the one that did. Also I’m going rounds that include international literature, especially Tolstoy, and a certain Russian Jew who lived in an area that is now the Ukraine, who wrote in Yiddish, whose “Tevye the Dairyman”, or “Tevye the Milkman” became the basis for the musical “Fiddler on the Roof”.)
So Which is the best film adaptation of a Pulitzer Prize winning novel?
For the other poll, go here.
To talk about both polls, or suggest a book AND IT’S AUTHOR (one without the other won’t considered) and be over 6.1 and have at least 500 votes (So people know it exists), go here.
