Fox today announced its 2025 midseason premiere dates and is getting pumped up for its February “Fox’s Super Week,” capturing the ongoing excitement ahead of Fox Sports’ presentation of Super Bowl Lix.

The midseason schedule on Fox starts Thursday, Jan. 2, with the series premiere of the all-new Denis Leary workplace comedy, Going Dutch (9:30-10:00 p.m. Et/Pt), preceded by the Season Three premiere of Joel McHale’s hit series, Animal Control (9:00-9:30 Pm Et/Pt), together building a new Thursday night comedy block on Fox. The night also includes the return of Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen (8:00-9:00 Pm Et/Pt).

Fox has announced its midseason schedule, which kicks off on Jan. 2 with a new Thursday night comedy block.

Following an 8 pm lead-in with Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen, Joel McHale’s hit comedy Animal Control launches its third season at 9 pm, following Denis Leary workplace comedy Going Dutch at 9:30 pm.

Gordon Ramsay’s Season 4 premiere of Next Level Chef will take over the 8 pm Hell’s Kitchen slot on Thursday, Feb. 13 followed by Animal Control and Going Dutch.

The series debut of Fox’s new medical drama Doc is set for Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 9 pm. It stars Molly Parker (House of Cards) as the hard-charging, brilliant Chief of Internal Medicine Dr. Amy Larsen, who suffers a brain injury that erases the last eight years of her memory. Doc’s lead-in, Kitchen Nightmares: Road to Super Bowl Lix airs at 8 pm with episodes leading up to The Big Game set in New Orleans.

The Prime Video comedy series “Harlem” returns for a third season on Jan. 23, the streamer announced this week. The show will premiere worldwide across more than 240 countries through Amazon’s Prime Video platform. Created by Tracy Oliver, “Harlem” will continue to follow its four main best friends, Quinn (Grace Byers), Tye (Jerrie Johnson), Camille (Meagan Good) and Angie (Shoniqua Shandai), through romance, friendship, motherhood and their professional careers.

The “Blue Bloods” star does not understand why CBS is canceling the show after its 14-year run, considering how successful it still is.

In a Top 100 Shows of 2023-2024 (in total viewers, we were number 9 out of 100), if you discount the three football shows, we’re #6! I’m not going to turn into a bitter old guy saying, ‘Get off my lawn!’ I don’t believe in holding grudges, but if you were to say to the television network, ‘Here’s a show you can program in the worst time slot you got, and it is going to guarantee you winning Friday night for the next 15 years,’ it would be almost impossible to believe.

Hardly a month after MTV’s Punk’d premiered in 2003, The Sci-Fi Channel (now Syfy) debuted its own unique take on the hidden-camera format. Both series indeed played elaborate pranks on folks, but Scare Tactics set itself apart by placing everyday people in horror movie-like scenarios. This creep-show survived on its concept for a good five seasons before finally closing up shop. However, much like any other lucrative horror franchise, there is always that possibility of a comeback.

After watching the premiere of this new Scare Tactics, it’s safe to say not a lot has changed in ten years. Despite pitching the show as an “audacious reimagining,” original creator and producer Scott Hallock has, more or less, implemented the same formula as before. Of course, Hallock is now joined by actor and filmmaker Jordan Peele, who so far is only working in a behind-the-scenes capacity, and Peele’s production company Monkeypaw Productions.

TV has brought audiences so many prank shows over the decades that it’s possible to name superlatives. Jackass: most violent. Betty White’s Off Their Rockers: most senior citizens. Punk’d: most celebrities. Jury Duty: most elaborate. The Magic Prank Show: most magical. USA’s Scare Tactics revival already had a premise baked in, but not only does it fail to be most horrifying; it also left me wondering whether entertainment has evolved beyond the need for new prank shows entirely.

Given that what made it to air never looked, let’s say, particularly cost-intensive, the Scare Tactics franchise — a hidden-camera show in which ordinary people are the marks for terrifying pranks with names like “Laboratory Meltdown” and “Orgy From Hell” — has gone through multiple eras and homes. Oscar-winner Jordan Peele’s reboot of Scare Tactics has scared up an October 4, 2024 premiere on USA Network, Bravo, E! and Syfy. The reimagined horror-comedy series is inspired by the classic show that aired for five seasons and was hosted by Shannon Doherty, Stephen Baldwin, and Tracy Morgan.

Monkeypaw Productions’ Jordan Peele, Win Rosenfeld, and Jamal Watson executive produce along with Wmti Productions’ Scott Hallock. Elan Gale guides the series as showrunner and executive producer.

USA Network offers this description of the reimagined series: “This audacious reboot will turn unsuspecting individuals into the main characters of their very own horror movies in a cinematic approach to the hidden camera concept.

The series will be hosted by Flip, a spectral pre-teen obsessed with horror movies and fascinated by human fear. With twisted glee, Flip creates horrific cinematic scenarios and drops real people into the leading roles.

The upcoming “Scare Tactics” reboot has set its official premiere date.

The horror-comedy prank series will premiere on Oct. 4 at 10 p.m. Et on USA Network, while also airing simultaneously on fellow NBCUniversal networks Bravo, Syfy, and E!. The return of the series was originally announced in July.

The new iteration of the series will be hosted by Flip, who is described as “a spectral pre-teen obsessed with horror movies and fascinated by human fear.”

As with the original show, each episode of “Scare Tactics” will follow unsuspecting people as they are set up by family and friends to be plunged into staged horror scenarios all captured on hidden cameras. Per NBCUniversal, the show will feature regular people as well as guest stars like WWE’s The New Day, who think they are going to be part of a promotional event with current WWE Universal champion Cody Rhodes.

As you might have heard, Justin and wife Hailey welcomed their first child into the world on August 23, sharing the precious news via a very simple and very adorable Instagram post.

“Welcome Home Jack Blues Bieber,” the 30-year old wrote in a social media post… while sharing a close-up shot of his son’s foot.

Hailey, for her part, re-shared the post on her Instagram Stories, adding along with it a bear and blue heart emoji.

Released on Syfy in 2003, Scare Tactics started during an era where prank shows were all the rage, as this one debuted shortly after MTV's celebrity-centric series Punk'd. Produced by Scott Hallock and Kevin Healey, the series ran for five seasons between 2003 and 2013, featuring various hosts like Shannen Doherty, Stephen Baldwin, and Tracy Morgan. In 2017, Blumhouse announced its intentions to reboot the series, but that version seems to have stalled in development.

Scare Tactics, the hidden camera horror comedy show, is coming back with Jordan Peele devising the pranks.

The show, which previously ran for five seasons and aired on NBCUniversal’s Syfy, has been greenlit by USA Network to launch later this fall.

Peele and his Monkeypaw Productions are producing alongside Universal Television Alternative Studios (Utas), the unscripted arm of the studio where the Get Out and Nope filmmaker has an overall TV deal.

Scare Tactics will turn unsuspecting individuals into the main characters of their very own horror movies. Set up by their friends and family, these unwitting participants are put in twisted scenarios with fully immersive stories that blur the lines of reality, horror and comedy as they navigate one unreal decision after another.

The series was originally produced by Scott Hallock, who is exec producing via his Wmti Productions, which owns the format. Peele, Win Rosenfeld and Jamal Watson executive produce for Monkeypaw.
