Are you ready to delve back into the world of witches and mayhem? Agatha All Along is the most highly anticipated series of the year, but sadly, it’s not on Netflix. This is a Disney+ series.
What about shows on Netflix that have the same vibe? The great news is there are plenty to watch, and here are five to get you started.

Let’s start with a Netflix Original that we would have loved to see more of. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina brought us a darker telling of the story compared to the Melissa Joan Hart comedy of the ‘90s. It felt more like a witchy tale, which is needed considering the topics.
We meet Sabrina, a witch who doesn’t really want to give up her mortal life.

“Sabrina the Teenage Witch” is a certified Criterion title, believe it or not.
The beloved franchise about a beloved occult teen, iconically played by Melissa Joan Hart, is officially amongst the new streaming selections for the Criterion Channel. “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” centered on Sabrina (Hart), a high school student who lives with her two aunts Hilda (Caroline Rhea) and Zelda (Beth Broderick) as she navigates coming into her powers. Her cat Salem (Frank Conniff) also provides snarky spiritual guidance.
The ABC-produced franchise was based on the comic book series that debuted in 1971. The “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” show is available to stream on Paramount+ as of 2023.
The 1996 TV movie was a spinoff of the TV series, and was followed by 1998’s “Sabrina Goes to Rome” and 1999’s “Sabrina Down Under.”
Now, “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” joins Criterion’s “Witches” programming for October 2024, ushering in the 40-year anniversary of the Criterion platform.

Being “delicate” with Ryan Murphy has certainly paid off for Kim Kardashian. The actress and reality-tv star is deepening her relationship with studio 20th Television under a new first-look deal — her first for scripted programming.
Kim K. already has “The Kardashians” on Hulu heading into its fifth season, and entered (real) acting with Murphy’s “American Horror Story: Delicate,” a 20th TV production. She’s set to star in Murphy’s upcoming legal drama “All’s Fair,” also at 20th.
Now, the studio can give her a parking space. Kardashian will develop projects that span drama, comedy, and limited series under the multi-year deal.
Her first project under the deal is a collaboration with “black-ish” creator Kenya Barris called “Group Chat.” It is currently in development for Hulu and is based on the Nyt bestselling book “The Love Playbook: Rules for Love, Sex, and Happiness” from author La La Anthony.

[Editor’s Note: this list was originally published in March 2018. It has since been updated with new entries.]
It’s easy to think of the kind of stories that get told in the comic book world as just one genre or tone, but as seen below, graphic novels, comic strips, and other sequential art have offered up an incredible range of storytelling. And these stories have been inspiring great TV shows for years, even before superhero stories dominated the box office.
There were plenty of options that nearly made the list, like the WB’s “Smallville,” which squandered its early potential after running just a few seasons too long. Because one of the most exciting things about these stories is that there’s a rich variety to choose from.
With editorial contributions from Liz Shannon Miller, Ben Travers, and Hanh Nguyen.

During the 2000s, Britney Spears was often dismissed as a disposable pop star whose songs would be forgotten. Years later, it’s clear that the “…Baby One More Time” singer produced some of the best dance tunes ever. Here’s a look at her best work.
5. ‘(You Drive Me) Crazy’
The original version of “(You Drive Me) Crazy” can be found on Spears’ debut album, … Baby One More Time, and it’s perfectly fine. However, it needed a little extra kick to become a hit. A redux called “The Stop Remix!” has heavier instrumentation and an irresistible part where the beat stops as Spears yells out “Stop!”
“(You Drive Me) Crazy” has a level of pure bubblegum bliss that the world hadn’t heard since The Monkees first broke up in 1970. The track’s music video has some of Spears’ best dancing and a bright color palette that is quintessentially late 1990s.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch remains a beloved sitcom of the late ’90s and early ’00s. Now, new generations of viewers can discover Melissa Joan Hart‘s spunky Sabrina Spellman through various streaming services. When Hart stopped by TV Insider and TV Guide Magazine’s offices, she reflected on her bewitching 1997 cover. “Funny enough, I have this blown up very big on my wall at home,” the actress quipped about her TV Guide Magazine cover photo. “It covers my fuse box in my house.” She added, “I think I liked it because I had the smokey eyes, and back then I didn’t get to wear a whole lot of makeup like this.” Inside the magazine, Hart embraced a much darker vibe than her effervescent teenage character. Decked out in a black corset dress, the young actress stood on a New York City fire escape alongside a skeleton in a suit.

But then, as I got more comfortable with comedy, it was harder for me to flip into drama.”

The five-part series delved into the toxic work environments that many child actors faced working on some of the most popular kids’ television shows in the late 1990s and early 2000s, including allegations of abuse, sexism and racism.
Jenny Kilgen, a former Amanda Show writer who is featured in the documentary, penned an open letter to SAG-AFTRA urging it to “initiate and institute robust child safety protocols” as well as support federal legislation on the matter.

Melissa Gilbert had a ready answer when asked why fans of Little House on the Prairie always seem to burst into tears whenever they see her in person.
“Because I do! Quiet on the Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV kicked off with a bang, taking everything you knew about the beloved children’s network and crushing it to bits.
The Discovery premiere, which can now be seen in its entirety on Max, is a shocking and scurrilous look at arguably the most beloved children’s network for decades: Nickelodeon.
Nickelodeon began the careers of many actors, including Ariana Grande, Josh Peck, Keenan Thompson, Keke Palmer, Melissa Joan Hart, Zendaya, Nick Cannon, and Ryan Reynolds, among many others.
Quite on the Set doesn’t suggest that all Nickelodeon shows are at issue, as it ties the corruption to a writer and producer named Dan Schneider, who created The Amanda Show with Amanda Bynes, elevating her to a household name.
When you look at Amanda Bynes now, it’s hard not to imagine that had someone saved her from Schneider’s mechanizations,...

If there's one actress whose name is synonymous with the "Halloween" franchise, created by director John Carpenter in 1978, it's Jamie Lee Curtis. If there's another, it's Danielle Harris. Curtis holds the record for most "Halloween" movie appearances with six film, not counting archival footage, and the late Donald Pleasance is in five (though his likeness was used in the new "Halloween" trilogy). Harris, however, appearing in four "Halloween" movies, is the only actress to play two different characters in the franchise, and she did so by never taking no for an answer. When conditions were wrong, she walked, and when arbitrary directorial edicts threatened to block her, she acted her way back in with the best audition.
Harris was a young child when she first encountered Michael Myers. What happened to that little girl? She grew up, but she never stopped working. These days, she's a mother in real life,...

Melissa Joan Hart is synonymous with Sabrina The Teenage Witch, a millennial fave from late 1990s and early 2000s.
The 47-year-old actress took on the role of the character in the 1996 movie, before it was turned into a television series that went on for 7 seasons until 2003.
Melissa has recalled several on set stories from playing Sabrina, from her chemistry with Ryan Reynolds (who was in the movie), why she wasn’t a fan of the rumored reboot, and also revealed that she was almost fired from the show.
However, before Melissa, there were two other actresses who were in the running to play Sabrina.

Lifetime is wading into the guardianship debate by greenlighting a fictional movie with the working title The Bad Guardian.
Following the headlines and debate surrounding the guardianships of Wendy Williams and Britney Spears, the network has ordered a movie about a court-appointed guardianship gone wrong.
The Bad Guardian will star Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) and La La Anthony (La La’s Full Court Life) and “is inspired by countless true stories of individuals who have been put in the care of a guardian by the courts and raises the question — are these caretakers helpful or harmful?”

When Leigh’s (Melissa Joan Hart) father Jason (Eric Pierpoint) suffers a fall while she’s out of town, the courts assign Jason a guardian,...

We Are Family viewers showed concern when the game show’s usual host was missing from the finale, as he was in the emergency room a month ago.
Actor and comedian Anthony Anderson has hosted the game show since its Fox debut.
The multi-time Primetime Emmy nominee typically appears along with his mother, Doris Anderson, and they’ve been well-received as a duo.
Doris was there, but her son was noticeably absent from the big episode on Wednesday evening, as fellow actor, comedian, and host Joel McHale filled in.
The game show’s season finale was “Joel Control” ahead of the Season 2 premiere of his new comedy series, Animal Control, which arrives on Fox on March 6.
It was also another hosting gig for Joel, who previously filled in for Ken Jeong on Fox’s I Can See Your Voice.

For this month’s installment of “TV Terrors” we revisit the short-lived anthology horror satire “Bobcat Goldthwait’s Misfits & Monsters,” which aired on TruTV back in 2018.
Although these days it’s known mainly as the channel on cable that plays “Impractical Jokers” all day, every day, back in 2018, Tru TV sought out to try some different programming. After successfully pulling away from their line up of reality shows, the network aimed to deliver a hefty line up of original comedy series, many of which ended up being damn good.
Among the line up introduced, there was “Bobcat Goldthwait’s Misfits & Monsters.” Comedian, actor, and director Goldthwait is no stranger to the horror genre (I loved his found footage film Willow Creek), and was the mastermind behind this delightfully unusual horror anthology series. Every week, “Misfits & Monsters” told a variety of half hour stories, all of which were a healthy mix of dark comedy,...

Melissa Joan Hart is addressing all of the talk about her latest role.

Melissa Joan Hart is a grandma! Well, sort of. In a perhaps telling sign of the industry’s idea of roles women of a certain age should be playing, the actress recently portrayed a grandmother in the Lifetime movie Would You Kill for Me: The Mary Bailey Story. Explain that!
Considering Melissa Joan Hart will forever be a teenage witch to many of us, it is a bit jarring to find her being cast in the role. But it’s not just that our memories can’t mathematically fathom Hart, now 47(!), playing a grandmother, it’s that it feels like further proof that the movie and TV business has no idea what to do with women after they’re “over the hill.” Admittedly, The Mary Bailey Story is based on a true story and the figures are indeed young, but it still feels like it plays into the topic as a whole.

We all make moral decisions when we engage with art, consciously or not. For some, an element of a film’s moral makeup crosses a line and makes it reprehensible. This can be in relation to the fiction of the piece or the real world events that took place surrounding the movie. If you, Dear Reader, have such strong moral convictions and/or are sensitive to taboo topics in your movies, then The Crush is not going to be the ‘90s horror flick for you.
Because The Crush is pure sleaze on the screen and even ickier behind the scenes.
The story alone will likely draw a line in the sand for more than a few potential viewers. Journalist Nick Eliot rents a guest house from a well-to-do family and runs into (almost literally) their 14-year-old daughter, Adrian. Ripped From the Headlines stories are baked into Lifetime's DNA, but the network's fall movie lineup came with an additional promise: that of "truly unbelievable" drama. Every weekend since mid-September, Lifetime has aired a "Truly Unbelievable Movie" dramatizing the circumstances surrounding shocking murders, harrowing kidnappings, and one high-profile prison break, with big names like Bill Pullman, Melissa Joan Hart, and Luke Macfarlane playing the real people at the center of each case. While a few of these films focus on older crimes, most of them capitalize on recent cases (including Murdaugh Murders: The Movie and Bad Romance: The Vicky White Story) or pop culture moments — Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix plays a police officer in Buying Back My Daughter — making them a bit more relevant than the average Lifetime original movie.

Melissa Joan Hart is a fan-favorite actor who also happens to be a certified pop culture icon. She rose to prominence for her work in family-friendly sitcoms like Clarissa Explains It All only to become a major star for her work as the title character in Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Ultimately, it was Hart’s family-friendly image that led to some issues down the road. Most notably, Hart faced some serious repercussions after she opted to pose for the men’s magazine Maxim when the young star was at the height of her success.

Melissa Joan Hart revealed that she was almost fired from “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” because of a racy photo shoot with Maxim magazine in 1999, in which the actor posed in her underwear.
As a guest on “Pod Meets World,” a “Boy Meets World” rewatch podcast, Hart said she found out she was “being sued and fired” from “Sabrina” while at a Hollywood party during the “worst day of my life.”
Show producer Archie Comics responded to Hart’s comments in a statement to Variety, writing: “Archie Comics knows nothing and has heard nothing about this, and it was decades before the current administration at Archie. It’s ancient history.”
“While I’m at the party, my lawyer shows up and goes, ‘You did a photo shoot for Maxim magazine?'” Hart said on the podcast (via EW). “I’m like, ‘Yes, I did.’ They’re like, ‘Well, you’re being...
