(Aotn)- You may be very familiar with Paula Garces’ roles in such properties as “Law and Order: Svu,” “Devious Maids” and the “Harold and Kumar” series of films. But, you’ve likely not heard about her passion for comics and gaming, or of her heroic property that’s taking NY Comic Con by storm this weekend, “The World of Aluna.”
Now, that’s a shame, because “The World of Aluna” is a fresh take on the Super Heroine. One that spins the “touched-by-gods” trope and places it squarely in the Pre-Columbian New World. A butt-kicking, super powered, bridge between two worlds who was just in time in the 1500s.
Garces’ co-creation is also a timely figure for the 21st Century as well, a role model not limited by history. No, Aluna is also a genre bending, cross cultural superwoman, poised to make some noise with the big comic book boys and girls.
