Jenny Arata is a 1985 graduate of the University of Southern Colorado
where she triple majored in music performance, English and History.
While at USC she gave four public recitals and appeared in the musicals
"The Sound of Music" and "Oklahoma." She studied opera for five years
and is a coloratura soprano. In 1979 she also appeared in the world
premier musical based on the love story of Edward VIII and Wallace
Simpson called "Edward."
As a writer, she began writing at age 13 and from the start was very prolific. In 1991 she graduated from The American Film Institute Center for Advanced Film and Television Studios in Los Angeles where she received her MFA in screenwriting. In 1998 she sold her screenplay, "The Thirteenth Year," which was made into a Disney Channel movie in 1999.
From 1992-2003 she worked for the Academy Award winning MetroLight Studios where she analyzed and broke down scripts for VFX budgets.
She continues to write and to sing.
