Fatal Seduction is an erotic thriller series with little to offer as a smart television series but a lot to offer as a guilty pleasure. Created by Steven Pillemer, the Netflix series follows a married woman who goes on a weekend trip where she cheats on her husband because they have been having trouble in their marriage for a long time. Add a murder mystery to that storyline and Fatal Seduction runs like any erotic thriller. So, if you loved the erotic scenes and the thrilling mystery in Fatal Seduction here are some similar erotic thriller shows you should check out next.

The Vancouver Queer Film Festival has unveiled its first wave of titles, including opening films like Ben Whishaw’s Good Boy and Hacks actor Johnny Sibilly’s Great Canyon.
The Vqff will kick off with Closer, an anthology of shorts led by Good Boy, the directorial debut from Mainstream co-writer Tom Stuart, the co-writer of Gia Coppola’s Venice-opener Mainstream.
Skyfall actor Whishaw stars as a desperate man attempting to rob a bank, only to be thwarted by his overly supportive mother (Crown actor Marion Bailey) and an unexpected encounter with his family doctor.
Good Boy is executive produced by Emma Thompson and Coppola. Also playing on opening night is Ella May Sahlman’s romantic comedy Great Canyon, a live-action and animated hybrid that bowed at Sundance. There are a host of big-name players in this year’s Best Live Action Short Film Oscar race with Wes Anderson‘s “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar,” Pedro Almódovar‘s “Strange Way of Life,” and the John Travolta-produced “The Shepherd” all in the mix. But Tom Stuart‘s quirky British short “Good Boy” has a big name (and a big performance) of its own: Ben Whishaw.
The short follows Whishaw as a down-on-his-luck man who tries to turn his life around with the help of his anarchic mum (Marion Bailey) but figures from his past and a bygone tragedy threaten to consume and derail him. The short film blends multiple genres including comedy, drama, and tragedy and it is Whishaw’s powerhouse performance that is propelling this little indie film that could into a race full of the big boys.
Indeed, Whishaw’s performance is the film’s Mvp.

Emma Thompson has boarded Ben Whishaw short film “Good Boy” as an executive producer.
The grief-inspired short was written and directed by Tom Stuart. It tells the story of a young man called Danny (played by Whishaw) who grows increasingly desperate as he finds himself ferrying around his mother and a dead pigeon in the back of his Vw van after a heist goes wrong.
“The Crown” star Marion Bailey plays Danny’s mother.
“Danny’s attempt to rob a bank with his overbearing mum is scuppered by the appearance of their family doctor,” reads the logline. “With his mum in the back of his van, and a dead pigeon on the passenger seat, Danny has a growing sense of desperation. But as more and more figures arrive to disrupt his day, we begin to sense that everything is not as it seems…”

Marion Bailey and Ben Whishaw in Good Boy. Tom Stuart: 'I'd say one thing to Ben or Marion and they'd run with it. I'll probably never have it that good again, because they're such extraordinary actors' Photo: 130 Elektra Films Tom Stuart’s Oscar-qualifying short Good Boy is a tragicomic tale of a man coming to terms with what life has thrown at him. It stars Ben Whishaw as Danny, who starts his day out in his campervan with plans to rob a bank, at least before his mum (Marion Bailey) intervenes from the back seat. What follows is an increasingly surreal tale that considers love, loss and the potential for moving on.
Stuart, who is better known as an actor in the likes of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, says the film presented an opportunity to feel less “boxed in” as an actor.

Love, loss and laughter come together in Tom Stuart's Good Boy, an Oscar-qualifying short that is helped enormously by the presence of Ben Whishaw and Marion Bailey (perhaps best known these days for playing the Queen Mum in the Crown).
Whishaw stars as Danny, a nervous sort who is having a very bad day when we meet him, not least because he's in the early stages of what he hopes will be a bank heist. It turns out that the Vw camper van he's in, isn't just packed with ephemera but also has his mum (Bailey) in the back, a relationship that will bend and flex throughout the course of the film.
Stuart's film feels lived in, not just in terms of the look, although the production design from Paul Zabih and the slightly retro costuming from Gabriela Yiaxis are both excellent, particularly when it comes to the contents of the van,...

A jaunty little crime spree might not be the most conventional mother-son activity but it does make for a glorious opening to writer/director Tom Stuart’s directorial debut short Good Boy. It’s a touching examination of life, love and loss, filmed around the glorious Somerset farms of Glastonbury and featuring a vintage Vw van meandering through country lanes that plays host to an array of colourful characters. Stuart has given the film a vintage lens which speaks fittingly to the surreal emotional exploration of Danny, played by Ben Whishaw, as he goes about his bizarre day kept company by his doting if somewhat overbearing mother, played by Marion Bailey. Good Boy proffers a magically tinged reflection on grief which feels both true and comforting for those of us who can relate to the stabbing reality of loss. As the BAFTA and Oscar qualified short continues to delight on its festival circuit journey,...

Were one to go into “All the Light We Cannot See” totally cold — drawn to the four-part limited series, say, purely by its placement atop Netflix’s home page — it would be impossible to discern that it was based on a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel celebrated for its lyricism and profundity.
The dialogue here is pedestrian. The lead character, blind French teenager Marie-Laure LeBlanc (screen newcomer Aria Mia Loberti), escapes the German invasion of Paris in World War II with her father, Daniel (Mark Ruffalo). They seek refuge in the French port city of Saint-Malo. Yet throughout the journey, and the limited series, our Gallic heroine and Papa LeBlanc speak English with British accents.
The series’ wartime visuals are dark and obviously CG-enhanced. More practical effects include perfectly contained fires placed in strategic spots to indicate — along with James Newton Howard’s overwrought score — that a neighborhood has been bombed.

Plot: The story of Marie-Laure, a blind French girl and her father, Daniel LeBlanc, who flee German-occupied Paris with a legendary diamond to keep it from falling into the hands of the Nazis. Relentlessly pursued by a cruel Gestapo officer who seeks to possess the stone for his own selfish means, Marie-Laure and Daniel soon find refuge in St. Malo, where they take up residence with a reclusive uncle who transmits clandestine radio broadcasts as part of the resistance. Yet here in this once-idyllic seaside city, Marie-Laure’s path also collides inexorably with the unlikeliest of kindred spirits: Werner, a brilliant teenager enlisted by Hitler’s regime to track down illegal broadcasts, who instead shares a secret connection to Marie-Laure as well as her faith in humanity and the possibility of hope.

Ben Whishaw could propel a charming, British short film to Oscars glory with his star turn in Tom Stuart’s “Good Boy.” The film follows Whishaw — best known for his BAFTA-winning performance in “This is Going to Hurt,” his Emmy-winning turn in “A Very English Scandal,” and his role as Q in multiple James Bond movies — as down-on-his-luck Danny.
Danny attempts to rob a bank with the help of his chaotic mum, played by SAG-winning actress Marion Bailey, but he runs into trouble when memories of a tragic past begin to literally haunt him. As he tries to escape this past, a hopeful future arrives in the form of a potential suitor in a shop.

A Tricky Patient Causes a Therapist to Face His Own Issues in Ron Eyal’s Drama Short ‘The Therapist’
After making the Slamdance award-winning feature Stranger Things, Director Ron Eyal has returned to the short film format for his follow-up in the form of reflective drama The Therapist. It follows a practitioner who encounters a particularly tricky patient which leads him to reflect on his own psychological issues. Fundamentally, Eyal’s film is about human connection and the unexpected places important relationships can arise. It’s a film which relies on the performances of its two leads, BAFTA winner Adeel Akhtar and Marion Bailey, which Eyal captures in intimate close-ups, giving the actors the opportunity to convey their character’s emotionality through every minor facial expression. It’s an incredibly compelling work and Dn is delighted to premiere it online alongside a conversation (which featured spoilers so definitely watch the film first!) with Eyal where he walks us through the operation of making the film, working on a tight budget,...

"If you can hear me, remember... Darkness lasts not even for one second – when you turn on the light." During the recent Tudum event, Netflix revealed another short 60-second teaser for their adaptation of the acclaimed book All the Light We Cannot See, an epic World War II survival thriller. Directed by Shawn Levy (The Adam Project), the book has so much that they've split this into a four-part series - essentially two full movies that will play as a mini-series later this year. All the Light We Cannot See tells the story of the extraordinary power of human connection. Over the course of a decade, it focuses on the lives of Marie-Laure Leblanc, a blind French girl taking refuge with her uncle, and Werner Pfennig, a brilliant German teenager with an expertise in radio repair. Through a shared secret connection, they find faith in humanity and the possibility of hope.

William is a highly successful pediatric surgeon, a little uptight but living a good life with his family in London. But from the moment he locks eyes with Anna, standing across the room at a lavish party, he’s doomed. He knows it. We know it. The fun of Obsession, a new four-part erotic thriller from Netflix, lies in watching it all fall down. That, and a whole lot of kinky, animalistic sex.

This four-part Netflix series isn’t the first time that Josephine Hart’s 1991 novel Damage has been adapted for screen. In 1992, celebrated French director Louis Malle made a feature film of Hart’s book that welcomed Jeremy Irons, Juliette Binoche, Miranda Richardson, Peter Stomare and Rupert Graves to this exploration of erotic obsession. The film earned Richardson a Best Actress nomination among many others at that year’s Academy Awards.
This serialised version was created by playwright Morgan Lloyd Malcolm with writer Benji Walters, and directed by Ordinary Love, Good Vibrations and Cherry Bomb‘s Lisa Barrow D’Sa and Glenn Leyburn, updates the action to the modern day and remoulds the characters somewhat. Richard Armitage plays successful surgeon Will, husband to Ingrid and father to Jay and Sally, while Charlie Muphy’s character Anna Barton is expanded to explore her response to the fallout of the story’s scandalous central affair.

U.K. director Mike Leigh directs films in a wide range of moods but his working-class dramas are what made his name. All or Nothing is an emotionally punishing story of everyday life on a lower rung of a stagnant economy, where nobody has dreams and pessimism is the order of the day. The bitterness and anger are most evident in the abusive attitudes and verbal brutality from one generation to the next, even with the caring, sensitive Penny (Lesley Manville) and the inoffensive Phil (Timothy Spall). Leigh’s players craft heartbreaking characters whose individual miseries can’t be dismissed. We invest heavily in the hope of a positive outcome even as everything we see says, ‘no.’ Yet the film’s honesty doesn’t want us to give up on these people.
