- Unlike most of his contemporaries, Beck does not use a guitar pick to coax licks from his instrument. Instead, he uses a combination of his thumb and fingertips to pluck his guitar strings.

Then in 1971, the other line-up was unveiled and this one had more of a soul/funky blues feel to it. After producing two albums, Jeff Beck disbanded the group for good in 1972.

- Stevie Wonder's hit "Superstition" was originally written for friend Jeff who'd played session guitar on Stevie's 1972 album "Talking Book" (track: "Lookin' for Another Pure Love"), but after some negotiations with Motown, the label insisted that Stevie record it himself. As compensation for the unexpected change of plan, Stevie gifted Jeff the song, "Cause We've Ended As Lovers," that he'd written for his soon-to-be ex-wife, Syreeta Wright Wright, and it went on to become Jeff's live signature number.
- Romantically linked with top British fashion model Celia Hammond from 1968 to 1992.
- One of his earliest chores as a session guitarist occurred on The Bee Gees-penned "And the Sun Will Shine" which was sung by Paul Jones with Nicky Hopkins (piano), Paul Samwell-Smith (bass) and Paul McCartney (drums). Jeff and Samwell-Smith would become members of The Yardbirds and Jones would front the band Manfred Mann.
