Bassist for the iconic rock band band INXS.
Garry "Gary" Beers was born to Bill and Lola Beers in Sydney. He has 1 sister, Kerry.
Garry married the love of his life, Jourdan, in September 2007. Together they have girl/boy twins, Isla Katherine Beers and August James Beers born in 2011. The couple also have 2 dogs, Evie and Millie.
INXS were one of the world's biggest and most successful bands with sales beyond 40 million. They won many international awards and were nominated for Grammy awards on numerous occasions. INXS were voted best Live band in many polls over the years and Garry is always mentioned as an outstanding bassplayer and, with drummer Jon Farriss, part of one of the best rhythm sections ever. INXS toured right up to the end of 2012 where it announced a hiatus from live performance.
Garry has worked on many Australian artists' albums over the years, most notably Jimmy Barnes, Richard Clapton, Wendy Matthews, Jenny Morris, Bonic, and Michael Peter. He also formed the Australian Supergroup Absent Friends with Wendy Matthews, Sean Kelly, and other notable musicians and recorded an album produced by Beers and Kelly that was number one in Australia and won Aria Awards.
He also designed and built one of the world's premier recording studios, Mangrove Recording Studios, on the Central Coast of Australia as used by bands such as Silverchair, Eskimo Joe, Kasey Chambers, and Something for Kate.
INXS were involved with the very successful hit TV show Rockstar INXS produced by Mark Burnett.
Since moving to Los Angeles, Garry has concentrated on songwriting collaborations with various artists including artists such as Scott Weiland, Mike Krompass, Jimmy Khoury, Michael Jarvis, Jennifer Paige and Steve Sidelnyk among others.
Garry enjoys cooking, traveling, rugby- both League and Union- and golf. He loves living in Los Angeles and he and his wife are active in their community, volunteering for several animal rescue organizations.
In 2015 Garry formed a new "supergroup" called Stadium, an international lineup with band members associated with many world famous groups. The band includes Ciaran Gribbin on vocals who joined Garry in INXS as the band's lead singer back in 2011. Stadium plans to record a debut record and tour extensively through 2016 and beyond.
