Wordle will one day run out of new words to use for the fan favorite New York Times game, as there are only so many 5-letter words to choose from!
A fan asked Wordle’s editor Tracy Bennett if the game would be running out of words soon.

She answered the question on TikTok!
Tracy said, “Yes, there are only 2300+ words left in the database. I’ve added about 30 words and there are other words that haven’t been added that could be added,” she said. “One possibility is that we could recycle old words at some point, like when we get close to the end.”
Possible solutions? She shared, “We could throw everything back in the pot and mix it up. Another thing we could do is maybe allow plurals. Wouldn’t that be interesting. Or past tenses. So there are some options.

Matthew McConaughey just solved Wordle in one guess and he’s showing off his perfect score for the online game!
The Oscar-winning actor took to his social media pages on Monday (September 23) to share a screencap of his answer on the New York Times game.
For those who aren’t aware, Wordle is a game feature on the Nyt Games app in which players have to guess the day’s word in six guesses or less. If a letter is in the correct space, it turns green. If a letter guessed is in the word, but in the wrong place, it will turn yellow.
So, what was Matthew‘s word?

Chicago – There’s a time and a place where overacting is acceptable – musicals, children’s plays, Broadway – but there’s nothing worse than using it all the time in every wrong place.
Rating: 0.0/5.0
Nothing worse, that is, except for a film that stars so many known stars – Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, Steve Buscemi, Tim Meadows, Nick Swardson, Jon Lovitz and Shaquille O’Neal – who all think it’s a wise professional choice to appear in the worst comedy since the first time Adam Sandler tried to be funny in 2010’s “Grown Ups”.
It’s like they all saw a different film than what got released and thought that that movie was worthy of being made. What was made will only anger you for having taken your money, wasted your time and failed to make you laugh.

Chicago – Adam Sandler is just freaking with us now. His goal is obviously to create the raunchiest, sociopathic and off-putting comedies of all time, and “That’s My Boy” belongs in his Hall of Fame. The A-list cast helps out, including Andy Sandberg, James Caan, Susan Sarandon and Leighton Meester.
Rating: 2.5/5.0
The first and most obvious problem is that there are long stretches in the film that have no laughs, but at least it has some laughs, unlike Sandler’s recent “Jack and Jill.” Screenwriter Dave Caspe, who also pens the decent TV sitcom “Happy Endings,” projects some unseemly obsessions through the Sandler character, especially in the sexual realm. It’s an oddball film for sure, paced unevenly by director Sean Anders (screenwriter of the much better raunch comedy, “She’s Out of My League”), and somewhat awkward in its execution. But I predict this film might eventually wear out...

Chicago – As the chorus of “Goodbye Ruby Tuesday” signaled the recent season finale of “Saturday Night Live,” it was Kristen Wiig that said farewell to the show, but not before a lingering twirl from Andy Samberg, who just announced his own departure. The next phase for Samberg begins with a co-starring role beside Adam Sandler, in the film “That’s My Boy.”
Andy Samberg was born in Mill Valley, California, and grew up watching “Saturday Night Live,” as a self-described obsessed fan of the show. He spend two years at the University of California, Santa Cruz, before transferring after two years to New York University, to study filmmaking. It was with his childhood friends, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer, that he would form a comedy troupe called Lonely Island. The trio landed a gig on Saturday Night Live on their writing staff, and Samberg broke out as a featured cast member on the show.

Adam Sandler, Jack and Jill Henry Cavill/Immortals Tops Box Office, But Way Behind 300, Clash Of The Titans Directed by Dennis Dugan and starring Adam Sandler, Katie Holmes and Al Pacino, the widely panned comedy Jack and Jill — 0% approval rating among Rotten Tomatoes' top critics (despite a couple of fresh tomatoes on the list) — earned $26m in second place at the North American box office this weekend, as per studio estimates found at Box Office Mojo. If estimates are correct, Jack and Jill had the second-lowest opening of an Adam Sandler comedy in the past five years; released in 2009, Funny People debuted with $22.65 million. Now, if estimates aren't exactly correct, there's a not inconsiderable chance that this weekend's actual no. 2 movie was/is Puss in Boots. Featuring the voices of Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek, the DreamWorks Animation feature was officially the no. 3 movie, with $25.5m. That's one of those too-close-to-call scenarios.

Adam Sandler in drag/not in drag, Jack and Jill Henry Cavill/Tarsem Singh's Immortals to Top Weekend Box Office "Guess what's playing in movie critic hell?" asks the Boston Herald's James Verniere. Here's what: Directed by Dennis Dugan and starring Adam Sandler, Jack and Jill has a 0% approval rating among Rotten Tomatoes' top critics (though I spotted two fresh tomatoes on the list). The lowbrow comedy is expected to open in second place in North America this weekend, with about $25-$26m after grossing $9m on Friday. If estimates are correct, that'll be the second-lowest opening for an Adam Sandler comedy in the past five years; released in 2009, Funny People, which debuted with $22.65m, should maintain its bottom-of-the-barrel slot. Apparently much funnier than Jack and Jill, which also features Katie Holmes and Al Pacino playing himself, were the tweets posted today by the fake Twitter account @JackNJillMovie. It has since been shut down.

Chicago – In the realm of wasting time watching terrible movies, Adam Sandler provides a nearly 24 hour festival. His latest effort, just released on Blu-ray and DVD, is the horrendous, talent wasting “Just Go with It.”
Blu-Ray Rating: 1.0/5.0
Casting Jennifer Aniston, a decent comic actress, and Nicole Kidman, who worked with Stanley Kubrick (Kubrick!) seems like cruel and unusual punishment for the pair. Also the fact that this was loosely adapted from the far superior stage play and film “Cactus Flower” (1969), adds up to 116 long minutes of Adam Sandler doing the same tired Sandler-esque routine and ruination of an original source.
After running away from a potentially bad marriage as a young man, Danny (Sandler) finds that just wearing a wedding ring allows for relationship free hook-ups (just ask Anthony Weiner). Years later Danny is the best plastic surgeon in Los Angeles, aided in that pursuit by his associate Katherine (Jennifer Aniston). Surprisingly,...

The plot follows Danny (Sandler), who, after uncovering in the nick of time that his wife-to-be is a cheating gold digger, finds that wearing his wedding ring and pretending to be married to a horrible wife works wonders when scoring with chicks. He uses the technique for years, discovering that it’s the perfect way to keep his wounded heart safely shelved out of harm’s way.

Chicago – It may be called “Grown Ups,” but too much of the new Adam Sandler ensemble comedy feels like it was written by an eight-year-old boy. The believable friendship chemistry that Sandler has with co-stars Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, and Rob Schneider significantly ups the entertainment value, but “Grown Ups” could have and should have been much better.
Rating: 2.5/5.0
Co-written by Sandler with Fred Wolf (“Joe Dirt”), “Grown Ups” is a cliched variation on “The Big Chill” with a quintent of friends from childhood reuniting after the death of the coach who long ago guided them to a basketball championship. It hits all of the beats that you would expect it to while being often genially entertaining by virtue of the fun that these friends in real life must have had in making it. Sadly, the elements that actually work are off-set by gross-out jokes, false sentimentality, or...

Michael Clarke Duncan has joined the 3D indie action-thriller "No Man's Land" for ChipShot Films says Variety.
A blend of "The Amazing Race" and "Deliverance", the story follows a group of reality show contestants on a globe-trotting race who are traversing a dense Louisiana swamp where a misunderstanding with a group of backwater Cajuns turns into an all-out blood feud.
Sharni Vinson, Samm Levine, Christopher McDonald and Zuleikha Robinson ("Lost") also star. Jason Cox directs from a screenplay by Kevin Leonard and Jim Doyle.
Tracy Bennett, Lee Ross, Jeff Stern and Jeff Spilman are producing. Shooting kicks off in September.

Notice I didn't say best movies -- that territory has been well covered by far more passionate list makers than I am. (By the way, do you agree with me that a devotion to ranking is primarily a male urge? Tell me three good reasons why I'm right or wrong. At any rate, I don't have the gene for it.) As the first decade of the 21st century comes to a close, though, here's fodder for your New Year's Eve party: A list, in no particular order, of 10 movie developments from the past 10 years that have impressed, depressed, excited, upset,...

As we reported earlier, Universal Studios is being reorganized. Those of you waiting for a remake of The Wolfman are in luck; the project is still on. So is a Robin Hood movie starring Russell Crowe, oooh. However, those of you who, like me, prefer to spend your movie ticket-buying allowance on human-scale movies with adult complexity-stuff like Duplicity, State of Play, or Public Enemies - are screwed. See, according to the Uni bookkeepers, those titles, er, "underperformed" at the box office this year. So did Funny People, in which Judd Apatow and Adam Sandler took creative risks that resulted...

Like many of you, I saw Funny People this weekend, and I had some mixed feelings about the uneven film: parts were high-larious, other parts a lot less so. Even though Judd Apatow is famous for blending low-brow humor with substantive emotional themes, the tonal inconsistencies in the film definitely threw me, as did three notable changes from the rest of the Apatow oeuvre. These aren't complaints so much as observations, and there are some mild spoilers ahead: 1. A lack of weed smoking and stoner humor Herbal refreshments have played a big part in other Apatow comedies: Weed is basically a character Knocked Up, and the dudes in 40-Year-Old Virgin smoke a ton. Unless I missed it, there's only one scene of a character partaking (Jason Schwartzman's Mark takes one hit) and one tossed-off pot-smoking joke at the very end. 2. A love-interest girl who's one of the guys Historically,...

Chicago – Adam Sandler can lay claim to another #1 film with this weekend’s opening of “Funny People,” co-starring Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann, Jonah Hill, and Jason Schwartzman, but the box office win was bittersweet as the film failed to deliver either by the standards of its star or even its acclaimed writer/director Judd Apatow.
Adam Sandler stars as George Simmons. “
Photo credit: Tracy Bennett and Universal Pictures According to Box Office Mojo, “Funny People” made $23.4 million over the weekend with a per-screen average of $7,793. They are not horrible numbers by any stretch, but they do fall below industry and studio expectations.
Two years ago, Judd Apatow’s “Knocked Up” opened with $31 million without the star power of Adam Sandler and even “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” nearly matched the opening of “Funny People” with just over $21 million in 2005.
“Funny People” also fell significantly short when compared to recent Adam Sandler openings.

It was a glass half-full, glass half-empty kind of weekend at the box office for Funny People, writer-director Judd Apatow's comedic meditation on fame, humor, life, and death. According to figures from Hollywood.com Box Office, it opened at the top spot with an estimated $23.4 million, better than Apatow's The 40 Year-Old Virgin ($21.4 million) -- hence, the glass is half full. But that figure is far lower than the debut for Apatow's Knocked Up ($30.7 million), and it's the worst opening for a comedy for star Adam Sander since his 2000 turkey Little Nicky -- hence, the glass is half empty. Of course, Funny People was billed more as a thoughtful dramedy than a balls-out Sandler laugh-fest, and when matched against the opening frames for Sandler's serious efforts Reign Over Me, Spanglish, and Punch-Drunk Love, Funny People is far and away the winner -- and the glass is half full again.

Chicago – Judd Apatow’s “Funny People,” starring Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, and Leslie Mann, is like watching a friend try out a new stand-up routine. As with a lot of attempts at trying something untested, it doesn’t quite work out, but you have to admire the effort, if not the execution.
Rating: 3.0/5.0 The three films that Apatow has written and directed could be viewed as a natural trilogy about common chronological development through the life of a man. “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” is about sexuality, “Knocked Up” is about fatherhood, and “Funny People” is about mortality. If it sounds like deep material for what has been advertised as a raunchy comedy, it is, but that doesn’t mean it works.
