Fred J. Brown was born in Glendale, California, the son of Evelyn Anna (Sharpe) (26 Feb 1905-14 Feb 1986) and Frederick Joseph Brown, Jr. (16 Oct 1900-21 Oct 1960). He was the youngest of 3 siblings, with two sisters, Mary Anne & Joanne
He began his film career at Technicolor and then went on to apprentice at Columbia in 1954, and later worked at Screen Gems Television.
Married Isabel M Wroe in 1956. They had one daughter, Shelley. They were divorced in 1975.
He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1957 and was honorably discharged.
Married Michele Sharp in 1977 and they worked together until his death.
He and Michele supported the Film & Television School at Chapman University
