Created by Chuck Lorre, both The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon showcased the complexities of life through a humorous lens, while also incorporating heartwarming storylines. While the original series remains best on its own, the spin-off starring Iain Armitage deals with death scenes with remarkable sensitivity.

The show not only ends on an emotional note with George Cooper’s death, but it has always dealt with much greater sensitivity and depth compared to the original series, as demonstrated in the show’s first death scene in Season 2.
The First Death in Young Sheldon Delivers Emotional Depth and Compassion
Though The Big Bang Theory deals with the significant figures in the lives of its main characters, the sitcom largely struggled to address these deaths impactfully as it primarily focused on humor.

In its third season, "Yellowstone" did something unusual: it included an in-memoriam title card for an actor who had never worked on the show. The star in question was Wilford Brimley, the former Western actor who appeared in touchstones of the genre like "True Grit," "Gore Vidal's Billy the Kid," "Lawman," and more. Though Brimley hadn't actually appeared on Taylor Sheridan's wildly popular Montana-set drama before he died in 2020, he still earned a farewell note within the show. "In loving memory of Wilford Brimley," a title card accompanying the penultimate episode of season 3 read, continuing: "A cowboy, an artist, and a damn good friend."
There don't seem to be any links between "Yellowstone" and Brimley, aside from the fact that the former clearly takes inspiration from classic Westerns like those the legendary actor starred in throughout the 20th century. Series star Kevin Costner never acted alongside Brimley and...

It was a night of firsts, lasts and an upset win as TV’s finest gathered together to celebrate the 45th Primetime Emmy Awards on ABC on September 19, 1993. Even the host made history — in more ways than one. Read on for our Emmys flashback 30 years ago to 1993.
For the first time ever, the ceremony was hosted solely by a female — who was also, ironically, the unluckiest actress in Emmy history. Up for her 13th Emmy nomination that evening, Angela Lansbury guided the ceremony with her usual grace. Lansbury passed away in 2022, with the record of most Best Drama Actress bids as well as the record for most overall nominations without a win at 18. However, she wasn’t the only one nominated at this ceremony who has never won despite numerous nominations, or the only one to lay claim to an unfortunate record.

It’s a known fact that television and movie sets are filled with expensive, exciting props, and the hit TV show Northern Exposure is no exception. The dramatic comedy, which ran from 1990-1995, was set in the fictional Alaskan of Cicely, and across all 110 episodes, fans were able to admire plenty of on-set items.
There was a unique lamp that was featured in the Kbhr radio station for the fictional Chris in the Morning show, as well as a framed photograph from Season 3, episode 32, which supported the storyline and was sold at auction to a lucky fan after the show ended, according to Worth Point. Now, we have discovered that one of the show’s actors, John Corbett, actually stole a $20,000 prop from the Northern Exposure set.

“Yellowstone” actor Barry Corbin opens up about his battle with oral cancer in a new interview with People.
The star, a real-life cowboy who is known for his trademark Texas voice, tells the magazine: “There was a spot in the inside of my cheek that didn’t go away. It came back that it was cancer.
“I already knew what it was. I hadn’t discussed it with anybody, but I knew,” the 82-year-old adds.
Despite Corbin being in his 80s and his recent health struggle, he’s showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
He’s set to star in the series “Tulsa King” alongside Sylvester Stallone, as well as Martin Scorsese’s 2023 flick “Killers of the Flower Moon”, also starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Jesse Plemons.

"How long you guys been together, anyway?" Gravitas Ventures has debuted an official trailer for a holiday romantic comedy titled Funny Thing About Love, from filmmaker Adam White. "We really feel that what the world, and America in particular, needs this Holiday season is a feel-good, witty rom-com." A successful business woman takes her boyfriend home for Thanksgiving only to find her family is scheming to reunite her with her lost love, her other "one that got away." Summer Bellessa stars as Samantha, with a cast including Jon Heder, Barry Corbin, Pat Finn, Jason Gray, and Brooke White. This one belongs on the Hallmark channel, not in any theater. A sizzling neo-noir that should have boosted Dennis Hopper into feature bankability goes a tad slack — my guess is that Hopper’s fine directing instincts got blurred in the editing process. Don Johnson, Virginia Madsen, Jennifer Connelly and others are well cast in Charles Williams’ hardboiled sex ‘n’ crime yarn, and the temperature indeed rises when Johnson gets near his co-stars. The narrative momentum breaks down somewhat, yet the great-looking show remains a favorite, atmospheric and oversexed.

Jordan Walker Ross is a series regular on the historical drama The Chosen. He plays Little James, one of the 12 Apostles in the New Testament. When Ross auditioned for the role, Dallas Jenkins the show’s director and creator could see that he was disabled, but he apparently didn’t notice the limp – not at first, anyway.

"I'm still trying to get the whole 'kid' thing down." Gravitas Ventures has released an official trailer for an indie comedy titled Magic Max, an awkard low-budget indie romantic comedy starring Parker Bates and Ivan Sergei. The stars of Northern Exposure — Rob Morrow, Janine Turner, Barry Corbin, Cynthia Geary and John Corbett — reunited to kick off this week’s Vulture Festival. During the panel Monday, the cast members reminisced about their time starring in the CBS series, which celebrated its 30th anniversary this year, though there was no mention of a revival series that was originally announced in 2018.
“Your chance of having a hit television is probably as good as your chance of going to space and circling Earth,” Corbin said about Northern Exposure’s success. “The casting fit, the location fit, the music fit. Everything fit.”
Corbin, who starred as astronaut and retired Marine fighter pilot Maurice J. Minnifield, agreed with his fellow cast mates that all the elements behind Northern Exposure made for a high-performing series that stood out from other shows at the time.

Clint Eastwood is We Are Movie Geeks favorite stars and directors. After last year’s superb Richard Jewell, it’s clear the 89-year old actor and two-time Oscar winning director hasn’t let his age slow him down a bit.

The first season of “9-1-1: Lone Star” comes to a shocking conclusion with a two-hour finale Monday night. Like, literally shocking if TheWrap’s exclusive sneak peek from the second hour is any indication.
In the clip from Episode 110, titled “Austin, We Have a Problem,” which you can view via the video above, you’ll see Owen (Rob Lowe) informed that Michelle (Liv Tyler) hasn’t checked in with the 126 this morning. But before he can figure out where she might be and what she might be up to, a power surge suddenly hits the station and makes everything that runs on electricity go haywire.
Naturally, the sequence is set to Oingo Boingo’s “Weird Science” because, well, it’s a super weird science-y situation. Now, we have no idea what this actually means, but we know it’s not good!

Stephen Herek’s Critters (1986) was an out-of-left-field minor hit for New Line Cinema; its mix of tongue-in-cheek humor and sci-fi horror clicked with audiences who were still looking for something in a Gremlin-esque vein (although the filmmakers claimed their idea was first), so it was only natural that a sequel would follow. Enter Critters 2: The Main Course, the feature directorial debut of Mick Garris, one of horror’s great gatekeepers, and you know what? It’s as much fun as the first.
Audiences at the time of its late April release, however, didn’t feel the same and the film wasn’t a success, commercially or critically. Much like the Krites themselves, though, time has a way of rolling on and knocking down past perceptions to stop at the point of appreciation: Critters 2 is bigger, bolder, and strives for well-earned laughs that it gets.

There's a moment early in the new season premiere of the FX crime drama Fargo when a parole officer recalls how he met his fiancée, a slick hustler named Nikki Swango (played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead). As the episode flashes back to Nikki at a police station, getting booked and photographed, fans of filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen might experience some deja vu. The situation, the way it's shot, and even the way the crook gets yanked around by the authorities – it's all right out of the Coens' 1987 comedy Raising Arizona.

In today’s climate of cannibalizing existing properties to wring out every cent possible, it’s surprising that a “WarGames” remake hasn’t happened yet (though one is certainly in development). It’s been thirty-two years since the release of the John Badham-directed Cold War and science-fiction film, and what better way to revisit it than with this vintage behind-the-scenes video via Eyes On Cinema. The 1983 film follows Matthew Broderick as a high school kid who naively hacks into the sophisticated computer system at Norad, thus nearly kicking off World War III. The cast also features a pre-“The Breakfast Club” Ally Sheedy along with character actors Dabney Coleman and Barry Corbin. Running nearly four minutes long, the featurette was originally released at the time of the film’s premiere and has short interviews with both the young leads and one with director Badham as well that pinpoints exactly why genius hacker characters.

1981 was an amazing year for horror. An American Werewolf in London. The Beyond. The Evil Dead. The Funhouse. The Howling. The list goes on and on. However, one that always seems to fall through the cracks of time and memory is Dead & Buried.
Released in May 1981, Dead & Buried did not set any box office records. This is due to the fact that it is very hard to categorize. Is it a slasher ala Friday the 13th Part 2? No, but there are some gruesome and realistic deaths courtesy of late effects whiz Stan Winston. Is it a monster movie like The Howling? Not exactly, but the movie involves transformations (of a sort). Is there a mystery to solve? Definitely, and this is what drives the story forward and through the disparate elements at play.
60’s and 70’s TV survivor James Farentino stars as Dan Gillis, Sheriff of the seaside town of Potter’s Bluff.
