Amitabh Bachchan currently has around 120 crore in his bank balance as his current savings, according to Jaya Bachchan’s recent affidavit. However, this made us recall the time when his bank balance and savings went to 0, and he went bankrupt. It all started in 1996 when the superstar started a company called Abcl.

Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited sought a loan of around 22 crore from Canara Bank to start his company. And against this huge loan, guess what was the guarantee? It was his very own abode, Prateeksha, that was priced at around 10+ crore in those days.

Abcl started functioning and planned huge projects. It was valued at 60 crore in 1996, according to a report in Business Insider, and Big B planned to take it to 1000 crore worth by the year 2000. While this projection was highly ambitious, so were his projects that were planned.

Actor Mukul Dev will soon be seen in a period film titled Kartar Singh Sarabha. He says the film aims at giving the Indian revolutionary recognition and respect.

"It's a legendary character. It's a very exciting project. The cast is ensemble and is from various parts of the world. We have a very exciting team and the project is legendary stuff. It has got to be handled with care. I am very excited about the project," Mukul Dev said.

"The audience will love it and it would give a hero, the much needed recognition and respect. I am waiting for the audience to celebrate this figure," he added.

Directed by Kavi Raz, the film revolves around the life of the revolutionary Kartar Singh Sarabha. Kartar along with Bakshish Singh, and five others were hanged by the British in the Lahore Conspiracy Case of November 1915.

Mumbai, Sep 6 (Ians) Actor Mukul Dev, who is set to star in a film based on the unsung heroes of Indian football, says the sport has been his constant love since childhood.

Titled "Barefoot Warriors", the film in question is about the first national football team of independent India. The story is inspired by the Indian team that played brilliantly at the 1948 London Olympics despite most players playing barefoot, and becoming eligible to participate in the 1950 World Cup.

"It's a very exciting project. Football has been a constant love since I was a kid. It's like a journey back to those times," said the actor.

"India has a glorious footballing past and it's about those heroes who made it happen despite all odds and even to the extent that they didn't even have shoes to play football. It's a great story waiting to be told on celluloid. We can't wait...

Meeruthiya Gangsters music album was unveiled today (7th september) by Indian cricketer Suresh Raina, who has also recorded a song for the film. Suresh Raina, who is a friend of producer Shoeb Ahmed, agreed to sing as a friendly gesture for Shoeb.

Dar Film Distributors (Dfd), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dar Media, will distribute Jal directed by Girish Malik. The film is scheduled for release in India on March 21, 2014.

Jal was selected in the New Currents section at Busan International Film Festival 2013 and was recently screened in Indian Panorama at the International Film Festival of India (Iffi), Goa.

The film stars Purab Kohli, Kirti Kulhari, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Saidah Jules, Mukul Dev, Yashpal Sharma and Ravi Gossain amongst others.

Jal revolves around a young man who is gifted with a special ability to find water in the desert. With the backdrop of water scarcity, the film tells a complex story of love, relationships, enmity and deceit.

Salman Khan’s upcoming January release, Jai Ho, has been picked up Eros International for domestic and overseas distribution. The team at Eros sat down for a screening of the film to decide on the distribution details including the final figure. However so impressed with the film they cut discussions short within 1 hour of watching the film and struck a deal of 110 crores for the distributions rights. Making the film a member of the 100 cr club much prior to the release! Made on a reported budget of 130 crores Jai Ho is safely on its way of making its investors more than happy. Incidentally this is said to be the biggest budget a Salman Khan film has had.

New Delhi, Oct 14: "War Chhod Na Yaar", director Faraz Haider's attempt at a new genre - war comedy - has received "an average response" from the audience in its opening weekend, say trade experts.

The film, which released Oct 11, witnessed some growth in its opening weekend.

"War Chhod Na Yaar" stars Sharman Joshi, Jaaved Jaaferi, Soha Ali Khan, Sanjay Mishra, Mukul Dev and Dalip Tahil.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said that in three days of its release, the movie has seen "marginal growth".

"'War Chhod Na Yaar' collected approximately Rs. 4.50 crore net in its opening weekend. On Friday (it earned) Rs.1.30.

Mumbai, May 23: Actress Soha Ali Khan, who will be seen in the role of a journalist in upcoming film "War Chod Naa Yaar", shot a scene at her ancestral home in Pataudi.

"The director wanted something very different and while searching for places, they found (Soha's) Pataudi house apt for the scene," said a source from the set.

Being directed by Faraz Haider and produced by Aopl Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., "War Chod Na Yaar" also features Sharman Joshi, Jaaved Jaffrey and Mukul Dev. The team has also shot in Bikaner and Delhi.
