A new thriller series, “Missing You,” based on Harlan Coben’s best-selling book, will be available on Netflix in 2024. Rosalind Eleazar plays a detective whose past comes back to haunt her in the five-episode thriller that starts on January 1.

Eleazar plays Detective Kat Donovan, who is looking for missing people and finds her ex-boyfriend’s picture on a dating app. The finding hurts people again because he went missing without a trace 11 years ago.

The story is about Donovan’s search for information about the disappearance of her fiancé and the murder of her father, which has not been solved. She finds out truths that have been kept secret for years as she digs deeper.

The British version features many talented people from the UK. Ashley Walters, Richard Armitage, and Sir Lenny Henry play leading parts. Steve Pemberton, Jessica Plummer, Mary Malone, Lisa Faulkner, and James Nesbitt also appear in the movie.

The best classic rock songs often have sad backstories. For example, Donovan’s “Season of the Witch” was inspired by the dark side of the 1960s. The tune wasn’t actually a hit at the time, but it’s become one of the most ubiquitous songs of its era.

During a 2011 interview with The Guardian, Donovan explained how “Season of the Witch” foretold the end of the 1960s. “I think someone asked Roger McGuinn [of The Byrds] about the ’60s, and he said: ‘Well it lasted until December ’66 and something dark happened,'” the “Mellow Yellow” singer said. “All the hard drugs came in and something started happening that was big business.”

Some classic rock songs have more layers than you might expect. For example, Donovan’s “Season of the Witch” might seem like a light song for Halloween, but Donovan actually has some very strong opinions on witchcraft. He also doesn’t seem to have the most positive appraisal of Christianity.

‘Season of the Witch’ singer Donovan follows his own cocktail of spirituality

First, a little background. During a 1997 interview with South Coast Today, the “Mellow Yellow” singer said his personal belief system combines Buddhism, goddess worship, and Celtic paganism. Many modern pagans do witchcraft or at least hold a sympathetic view of it. Furthermore, it’s not uncommon for modern pagans — particularly those living in the Western world — to be critical of Christianity.

During a 2018 interview with Goldmine, Donovan said he got a lot out of books about meditation. “These books were hidden in the West,” he said. “They were not available.

According to legend, Fetches take on the physical form of the humans they visit — and if your own creepy doppelganger visits you in the evening, it means your death is imminent. But if they visit you in the morning, you can prepare yourself for a long life ahead of you.

That mythology is set to come to life in “The Fetch,” a new horror movie debuting at the Austin Film Festival that promises to fuse Irish folklore with modern day scares. According to an official synopsis, the film follows a grieving father who finds himself haunted by the Fetch as he mourns the death of his only son.

“The Fetch” marks the feature directorial debut of J.C. Doler, who has previously released six short films.

The Amazon Prime Video dark comedy series “The Sticky” has set its premiere date, Variety has learned exclusively.

The six-episode half-hour series will debut on Dec. 6. In addition, Variety has obtained first-look photos from the series, which can be seen below. The series is produced by Blumhouse Television, Jamie Lee Curtis’ Comet Pictures, Jonathan Levine’s Megamix, and Sphere Media

“The Sticky” stars Margo Martindale, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Guillaume Cyr. It is inspired by the true story of the so-called “Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist,” which made international headlines in 2012 when it was revealed that over $18 million (Cad) worth of maple syrup had been stolen from Quebec’s national reserve. The show was ordered to series at Amazon in 2022.

The “When Calls the Heart” family is growing. Trevor Donovan has joined the spinoff, “When Hope Calls,” at Great American Family.

Donovan will star as Constable Jim Reynolds, an experienced Mountie based in Clearwater. Per Great American Media, Reynolds is “a strapping man, proficient in horse riding and physical pursuits” and “is known for his strong presence and skills in the field.”

He will first appear in the third episode of Season 2, when Michael and Nora arrive to pick up a child under he’s caring for. He will then return for a second episode later in Season 2. Season 2 kicked off with two Christmas episodes in Dec. 2021; the third episode is set to kick back off the season in early 2025. Spooky season has arrived early, and it flew in on the broomstick of Agatha Harkness. Ok fine, technically the Marvel witch doesn’t need a broom to fly, but “Agatha All Along” does bring the witchiest of witch vibes with its playlist.

Thanks to the cast’s performance at the D23 Expo this year, we knew that Marvel’s latest series would feature another new original song, in the form of “The Ballad of the Witches’ Road.” Unfortunately, we only hear the faint melody of it in the season premiere, as Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) unwittingly hums it in her car.

U.S. prosecutors charge that Russian state media employees had secretly funded conservative media company Tenet Media.

Two Russian nationals working for Russia Today (Rt), a media outlet funded and controlled by the Russian government, funneled millions of dollars to Tenet, which publishes videos on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and X.

U.S. prosecutors said in charging documents that the money was used to pay right-wing influencers for videos promoting narratives appealing to the Kremlin.

David Lynch is promising to “never retire” after revealing he suffers from emphysema.

In a new interview with Sight & Sound magazine (via The Independent), Lynch shared the diagnosis due to years of smoking, explaining that he can’t “go out” because catching Covid-19 or any other bug would potentially exacerbate his health issues. However, the 79-year-old director later shared on X that he’s in “excellent shape” and doesn’t plan to quit anytime soon.

“Yes, I have emphysema from my many years of smoking,” Lynch wrote on X after the interview.
