Boys Will Be Boyz
Sky Documentaries has unveiled plans for “Boyzone,” a three-part documentary series that will examine the trials and tribulations of Irish boyband and 1990s pop sensation Boyzone.
“For the first time in 30 years, band members Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Michael Graham grant rare and exclusive interview access [..] revealing their personal experiences in a band that sold over 25 million records worldwide, the boys also talk candidly about how they grappled with the true cost of global fame,” Sky said. “They confront the strained relationships and tragic events that have had a lasting impact on all their lives, families and friendships.”
“The documentary examines the key events that shaped Boyzone, including the highs and lows of global stardom, the intense tabloid intrusion in 1990’s Britain forcing Stephen Gately to come out, and after a sensational comeback in 2007, a devastating tragedy struck the band, as Gately died.

Popular 90s Irish boy band Boyzone are gearing up for a fresh round of concerts as the group reunite in a joint business venture. Formed by Louis Walsh back in 1993, the boyband had put off getting back together for some time now, with rumours they were coming back for their 30th anniversary this year.
Members Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch and Keith Duffy have signed a deal in a business move similar to that made by Hollywood’s Ryan Reynolds and Shut Up rapper Stormzy.
The Boyzone have teamed up to buy shares in Lancashire’s Chorley Fc where they also plan to perform a series of concerts, reports mirror.co.uk.
The band will be heading to this Saturday’s home game against Solihull in the Fa Trophy to officially seal the deal.

"Sometimes people find life just really hard, and go to dark places..." Kaleidoscope Ent. has released the official trailer for an Irish indie road trip adventure film titled Poster Boys, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Dave Minogue. This originally premiered at last year's Galway Film Fleadh and will be released later this year. With the help of his smart ass kid nephew, broke Al Clancy steals a camper-van and heads on a cross country road trip to finally get his life together. "A semi-autobiographical comedy featuring a range of brilliant new Irish talent (and a cameo from Boyzone's Keith Duffy), this festival favourite is a road-trip adventure with undeniable heart and an uplifting message at its core; that families need to look out for each other no matter what circumstances they may find themselves in." The indie film stars Trevor O'Connell, Ryan Minogue-Lee, Norma Sheehan, and Amy Hughes.

Singer Ronan Keating walked down memory lane and recalled how he and fellow Boyzone members spent the last night together.
His former bandmate Stephen Gately had passed away on October 10, 2009, and Boyzone fans remembered how his bandmates slept on the church floor with his coffin the night before his funeral, reports the sun.co.uk.
Keating, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Mikey Graham had held an overnight vigil at St Laurence O'Toole Roman Catholic church so that he wasn't on his own for a moment. They brought sleeping bags into the church and slept beside his coffin.
Keating told Sky News that it was a "beautiful, amazing experience".
Ronan Keating added, "The four of us decided to stay with him on the Friday night in the church. All of us are so happy that we did it. It was our last night together as a five piece, our last real night together.

The London Indian Film Festival (Liff) has come a long way in the years since its inception. Now in its 8th edition, there’s no sign of it slowing down in its quest to showcase the best of independent Indian film making.
In fact, choosing The Black Prince could be seen as the festival showing its almost punkish ethos by beginning with a film that recalls a little-known story set around the time of the first Anglo-Sikh War. As a Brit myself, it certainly made for slightly uncomfortable viewing in parts.
The story concerns the last King of Punjab, Duleep Singh, a boy who is crowned at the age of five but the invading British and treachery by in-fighting factions lead to him being denied his birthright. Duleep is rescued by Colonel Hurbon, a trusted General in the boy’s father’s army. Subsequently he’s taken to England where...

The annual Cannes Film Festival played host to the official unveiling of the eagerly awaited trailer of Brillstein Entertainment Partner’s (Academy Award winning film 12 Years A Slave) latest biopic The Black Prince. Media from around the globe descended upon the India Pavilion to catch a glimpse of the award winning movie, directed by Hollywood filmmaker Kavi Raz, as it prepares to take the big screen by storm when it releases worldwide on 21st July 2017.
Journalists and photographers sat in awe as the trailer powerfully encapsulated the enthralling tale of the Last King of Punjab, Maharajah Duleep Singh and the constant battle he faced to regain his identity, faith and essentially the Kingdom taken from his grasp by the British.
The film follows the story of the last Sikh Maharaja — the son of the powerful ruler Ranjit Singh — who was placed on the throne at the age of 5, after the death of his father.

The Black Prince, an historical drama based upon the true story of Maharajah Duleep Singh, the boy who became king of Punjab shortly before it was annexed to the British empire, was awarded the Special Jury Remi Award today at the 50th annual WorldFest International Film Festival in Houston. The event’s Gold Remi was also awarded to the film’s Natalie O’Connor for achievement in Art Direction.
Majarajah Duleep Singh was exiled by the British to a privileged life in England when he was only 15 years old, and was shortly thereafter converted to Christianity. Reuniting with his long-lost mother after more than a decade, Duleep begins a daring journey of self-discovery in order to reclaim his faith and the kingdom that is rightfully his. His struggle inspired Sikhs to continue their fight for freedom until India regained its independence from British Imperialism in 1947, and the Sikh kingdom was divided into India and Pakistan.

The X Factor is back on Saturday, so the judges (minus Rita, who was off doing some tour in the Us) - showed up at a glitzy launch this week to tell Digital Spy all about the show's highly-anticipated comeback.
From the judges' thoughts on arch rival Strictly to Cheryl being responsible for Nick Grimshaw's job, and Simon trying (and failing) to get down with the kids, there's loads going on already.
1. Simon has not managed to nail the youth speak yet.
Nick joked that Simon has been trying to "cotton on to contemporary youth jargon", but Simon didn't exactly help himself when he smirked: "I was just trying to smash it up." Grimmy was despairing: "Mash it up! Mash it up, not smash it up." Never mind, eh, Simon. (He was also asked if he'd called anything "on fleek". "Yeah, quite a bit, yeah.")
2. Cheryl is enjoying being an executive producer.

Alexander O'Neal has revealed his reasoning for quitting Celebrity Big Brother following his dramatic departure over the weekend.
The singer became embroiled in two unpleasant confrontations with showbiz blogger Perez Hilton, which resulted in a formal warning from Big Brother over O'Neal's use of an offensive term.
Speaking to CBB host Emma Willis on Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side, Alexander revealed why he walked, saying: "I did it for myself and for my housemates."
He added that "the stress became unbearable" prior to his exit, and was subsequently forced to accept that the 'Perez problem' was not going to go away.
But Alexander is not the only disgruntled celebrity housemate to voluntarily leave, and we doubt he'll be the last.
Some, like Claire King, withdrew from the show due to illness, while others have been removed by producers.

The X Factor will have a Girlband vs Boyband theme on next week's show.
This year's run has so far included Number Ones, 1980s hits and Movies Week, while this Saturday's show is the Halloween-themed Fright Night.
X Factor Live Shows to be moved to Sundays next year?
Weekly themes are usually revealed on the preceding week's results show or Xtra Factor broadcast, but producers have confirmed the November 8 plans early.
The 2014 judging panel features former Spice Girl Mel B and ex-Girls Aloud star Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.
It is rounded out by former Boyzone and Westlife manager Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell, who has played a key role in the careers of several girl and boybands, including former X Factor act One Direction.
The eight-piece Stereo Kicks are the sole remaining boyband in the group, being joined in Walsh's category by mixed boy/girl group Only The Young.

The X Factor is going there - we're getting an eight-piece boyband this year! The lads - who were put together by the judges after unsuccessful solo auditions - blazed through to Louis Walsh's Judges' Houses after their stirring performance of 'Run'... but what are they really like?
We met Reece Bibby, James Graham, Barclay Beales, Tom Mann, Casey Johnson, Jake Sims, Chris Leonard and Charlie Jones this week and tried to get them to settle down long enough to answer ten questions for us...
1. Do you have a proper name yet?
All: "No!"
Charlie: "We've had a few ideas and they've been awful."
Casey: "Chris's favourite is Walking Pavements."
Chris: "I think that's clever."
Barclay: "It's terrible. Terrible."
Casey: "Are you a toddler? What part of that's clever?"
Tom: "Walking is boring and pavements, pavements are so boring."
Chris: "So is Tom!"

One of our favourite things about Celebrity Big Brother launch night is not just seeing which famous people will be going into the house - but which celebrities have turned up to support them! In fact, the housemates have it easy compared to their friends and family, who have to shiver their little behinds off and hang around with the baying mob in Borehamwood for hours on end.
Well, we thought we'd give them their due by rounding up the famous people we saw filling out the launch night crowd - here's who we spotted...
Ola Jordan off Strictly
It was kind of a given that Ola Jordan would show up to cheer her husband James Jordan into the house. Mind you, she might wish she hadn't bothered after he said he basically got married to avoid cooking.
Linda & Pete off Gogglebox

Read on for everything you need to know about the bungalow's brand new residents...
Angelique 'Frenchy' Morgan
So who is she? Angelique is a model, exotic dancer and, er, 'adult film star'.
What do I need to know? Angelique is nicknamed Frenchy, presumably because she was raised in Paris. She's probably the star who'll get the most 'who?' comments, but if you want to know your stuff, she landed appearances on the Howard Stern Show after being on Playboy TV. Since then, she's been on reality shows Rock of Love, Charm School and I Love Money - oh, and some of you might be pretending you...

Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee in the hot tub with Gary Busey; Helen Flanagan weeping relentlessly in the Diary Room; and David McIntosh parading around in Those short shorts.... the possibilities for this series of Celebrity Big Brother are endless.
So, as we eagerly await for the mystery(ish) celebrity guests to enter the famous house in Elstree, we've decided to reminisce with our favourite ever star contestants below:
1. Jackie Stallone
"Yeah, Jackie," were the only two words uttered from the side of Jackie's heavily siliconed mouth as she entered the house, draped in fur and dripping in jewels. Her entrance soon became one of the most memorable moments from the entire series.
It was part-Jackie's presence, part-Jackie's face that really shocked Brigitte Nielsen back on the show in 2005 when her former mother-in-law entered the house on day five.
Fellow housemates had to refer to Jackie as the Queen Mother,...

Ronan Keating has dismissed reports that he will be appearing in the next series of Celebrity Big Brother.
The Boyzone star took to Twitter amid mounting speculation that he would follow his bandmate Keith Duffy into the famous compound.
"Love all the chat about me and Big Brother," he wrote. "Please know i am not in talks with anyone regarding this. Nor will I be."
The rumours surrounding Keating appeared to stem from a light-hearted tweet he wrote a few weeks ago which included the phrase "day 2 in the Big Brother house" - but was actually in reference to a detox plan.
While the new series of Celebrity Big Brother won't begin until this summer's 'civilian' version has ended, rumours about who could be making their way into the Borehamwood bungalow have been circulating for some time.

Tom Daley has admitted to Digital Spy that he is not sure if Splash! will return for another series.
The Olympian revealed that ITV has yet to make a decision over the future of his celebrity diving show, which suffered a ratings drop in its recently-concluded second series.
Asked if Splash! would be back for a third series, Daley replied: "I don't know. No decisions have been made. It's down to ITV, isn't it?"
Splash! became ITV's highest-rating new entertainment series for five years when it debuted in 2013, and was renewed just two days after its first series ended.
However, the latest edition struggled against The Voice UK on the BBC and its final two weeks ago only drew in 3.79 million viewers, 1.5 million fewer than last year.
Diversity dancer Perri Kiely was crowned winner of Splash! 2014, beating Paralympian Richard Whitehead, Boyzone star Keith Duffy and Towie's Dan Osborne.

What a week it's been! Not least for yours truly, as it's been the first full week since November where I've not been flinging myself off diving boards and swanning around in spandex. And I have to say, I've missed it!
Not the bruises or the tears, naturally, but the camaraderie and the sport itself have been second to none, and my whole Splash! experience has been fantastic.
Narrowly pipped to the post by Towie's Dan Osborne last Saturday, I didn't quite make it to the final show in a swimming costume, but content enough being last girl standing, I took my seat alongside the rest of the cast of 2014 to enjoy the all-male final. Dan, Keith Duffy, Diversity's Perri Kiely and Paralympian Richard Whitehead all donned their briefest of briefs yet to take to the boards one final time.

20:50Well, there you go. Splash! is over (*whisper it* possibly forever), and all that's left is the customary end of series leap into the pool. Although we wish Gabby wasn't so precious that she needed to stick on a swimming cap. Thanks for joining us, gang! Night night!

Splash! finalist Dan Osborne has promised to get an Olympic tattoo if he wins the series tonight (February 15).
The Towie star has made a pact with Paralympian Richard Whitehead to get the tattoo if he finishes ahead of him in the competition.
However, speaking to Pa, Osborne said that he'd have a tough time beating Perri Kiely.
He said: "When you're in the final with Perri who's just flinging around double somersaults and I'm struggling to get a tuck dive… so I don't think I'll win.
"I would love to win, it'd be amazing, especially just to beat Richard. It'd be the most amazing thing to beat an Olympian and if I do beat him I've promised to get an Olympic tattoo on my chest just like his.
"I've promised to get that even if I come third and he comes fourth – it's game on," he added.

Diversity's Perri Kiely is the favourite to win Tom Daley's diving reality series Splash! this weekend.
The 18-year-old and Paralympian Richard Whitehead are the clear frontrunners ahead of this Saturday's (February 15) final, which will see the celebrities perform a synchronised dive with Daley.
Kiely was the early favourite with bookmakers before the ITV show returned in January, and remains so after receiving universal praise in the semi-final stage.
According to Easyodds.com, Kiely is the 10/11 odds-on favourite with bookmakers, with Whitehead following on odds of 7/4.
Towie's Dan Osborne is currently 22/1 to win, after securing his place in the final by beating Digital Spy's Anna Williamson in this week's splash-off.
Meanwhile, Boyzone's Keith Duffy appears to be the outsider going into Saturday's final, after he also won his place in the final via the judges' vote.
The Splash! live final airs on Saturday at 7.20pm on ITV.
