Robert Elhai is an award wining composer, orchestrator, and arranger. He is the recipient of Tony and Drama Desk nominations for his work for the Broadway production of The Lion King. He has contributed orchestrations for over 150 film scores including 3 Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, 5 Fast and Furious movies, 3 Alien movies, and 2 Batman movies, as well as Elliot Goldenthal's Oscar-winning score for Frida. He has done arrangements for Metallica's Grammy Award-winning "S&M" with the San Francisco Symphony, as well as for the Minnesota Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and many others. He has most often collaborated with composers Elliot Goldenthal, Brian Tyler, Michael Kamen, Klaus Badelt, Ilan Eshkeri, Edward Shearmur, Christopher Lennertz, and James Newton Howard, among others. Robert has been involved in projects that have won Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, Grammy Awards, and Tony Awards.
As a theatre composer his projects include music for Dirty Business at the History Theater, Twisted Apples at Nautilus Music Theater, Little Women at the Jungle Theater, C. at Theater Latte Da, and The Lady With A Lapdog at Fortune's Fool Theater, all in Minneapolis-St. Paul, where he resides. He holds degrees from Yale University, the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, and Carleton College.
