Yuriy Entin is a Soviet and Russian poet, playwright, lyricist, screenwriter.
Entin was born in Moscow. His father Sergey Entin was a metallurgical engineer, candidate of technical sciences. Mother - Sofya Entina was an economist. From school years Entin was fond of literature and history. He graduated from the Faculty of History of the Pedagogical Institute, then the Faculty of Editing at the Polygraphic Institute, worked at the school as a history teacher and librarian.
From 1962 to 1969 Entin was the editor-in-chief of the children's edition of the 'Melodiya' company. Since 1969 he has been writing songs for cinema and television, also scripts and books.
Entin is a member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, a member of the Union of Theater Workers of Russia and the Union of Writers of Moscow, the author of many songs. Songs based on his poems are heard in many children's films. Wrote several books for children.
