- At the 2012 Academy Awards, Faxon shared the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay with Alexander Payne(I) and Jim Rash for "The Descendants". Their screenplay had been circulating in Hollywood for several years and in 2008 had been featured on "The Black List" of well-liked but as yet unproduced scripts as recognized by Hollywood executives.
