Bernadette Flynn(I)
Bernadette Mary Flynn was born on August 1, 1979, the second of Andy
and Mary Flynn's five children. She has loved dancing all her life, and
is the possessor of six world titles and seven All-Ireland titles. In
1996, she came in first in the World Irish Dancing championships, and
joined Michael Flatley and Lord of the Dance shortly thereafter,
playing the role of Saorise (Gaelic for "freedom"). The show opened on
July 2, 1996 to critical acclaim and commercial success. She has more
recently performed in Flatley's 'Feet of Flames,' which opened on July
25, 1998. Miss Flynn remains, along with Gillian Norris, one of Michael
Flatley's all-time favorite dancers.
