For the last few years, Paramount has been giving the Friday the 13th movies they released in the 1980s 40th anniversary steelbook Blu-ray releases. The original Friday the 13th got its steelbook release in 2020, and you can pick that up Here. Friday the 13th Part 2 got its steelbook release in 2021, and you can buy that one at This Link. Friday the 13th Part III followed its predecessors in 2022, and you can get that steelbook Here. There was no Friday the 13th movie released in 1983, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter didn’t come along until ’84, so I was wondering if Paramount was going to wait an extra year to release a steelbook for that one… and the answer is no. Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter is getting a steelbook Blu-ray release for its 39th anniversary, and it’s already available for pre-order on Amazon!

Released in 1984, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (watch it Here) has one of the most inaccurate titles ever… which is easy to forgive when the movie also happens to be one of the best slashers ever made. Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter is also the focus of the latest episode of our video series Real Slashers, which you can watch in the embed above!

Intimate letters written by Princess Diana to her friend and Buckingham Palace steward Cyril Dickman detailing family life with her two young sons are hitting the auction block.
The series of handwritten notes, photos and even signed Christmas cards from the royal family was recently uncovered by Dickman’s grandson after the former steward’s death in 2012. In letters from Princess Diana, she describes her children’s emerging bond just days after the birth of Prince Harry in 1984.

Princess Diana's private letters are hitting the auction block. The late princess' notes of correspondence with Buckingham Palace Steward Cyril Dickman are valued at £15,000 and will be auctioned off in Cambridge on Jan. 5, 2017. Other items hitting the auction block include signed Christmas cards from Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip and Prince Charles, as well as pieces of cake from their weddings and never-before-seen pictures. Jason Voorhees lost his head, but got a stay of execution in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter.
Friday the 13th has been considered unlucky since October 1307 when King Philip IV of France ordered the executions of all of the Knights Templars because God was “not pleased.” It was a bloody beginning to a long tradition.
But not every Friday the Thirteenth is unfortunate, no matter how much blood gets spilled. For example, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter was very lucky.
Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter was supposed to close the franchise begun by the 1980 low budget proto-slasher movie Friday the 13th, which was directed by Sean S. Cunningham, written by Victor Miller and was separated by no degrees from Kevin Bacon. But it wasn’t so lucky. The son of a bitch gave us something to remember him by.

The final chapter? Yeah, right. As long as old hockey face keeps raking in the dough we.re stuck with him. The production thought it was Jason.s last stand so Tom Savini was brought back in to do the old boy in. You can.t keep a cash cow down though. After the massacre in part 3D, Jason Voorhees. (an uncredited Ted White) body is taken to the morgue. However, there.s some life left in the old boy and he rises from the slab and kills the morgue attendant (Bruce Mahler) and a nurse (Lisa Freeman) before making his way back to Crystal Lake. Paul (Alan Hayes), Sam (Judie Aronson), Sara (Barbara Howard), Doug (Peter Barton), Ted (Lawrence Monoson), and Jimmy...

Chicago – The reboot of “Friday the 13th” was another financially successful notch in the belt of Platinum Dunes, the film company behind the remakes of “Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” “The Hitcher,” and “The Amityville Horror”. Making $90 million worldwide and more domestically than any previous Jason Voorhees movie (that didn’t include Freddy Krueger), “Friday the 13th” has a following that will be ecstatic with the excellent Blu-Ray release for the slasher title.
Blu-Ray Rating: 3.5/5.0 The Blu-Ray of “Friday the 13th” delivers everything fans could ask for. Not only do they present a longer and better cut of the film in the 9-minutes-longer “Extended Cut,” but the special features enhance the “Friday the 13th” experience and the technical transfer is nearly flawless.
Friday the 13th was released on Blu-Ray on June 16th, 2009.
