The 1989 action classic Road House (watch it Here) recently got a decent enough Prime Video remake that’s set to receive a sequel – which is something the original movie should have gotten around 1991 or so. But no matter what other movies use the Road House title, nothing will ever compare to that ’89 movie… which I have vivid memories of watching at a drive-in during its initial release. To celebrate the 35th anniversary of Road House, the estate of musician Jeff Healey has announced that they’re teaming up with Sony Music and Mondo Music to bring us Road House: The Lost Soundtrack, the complete, previously unreleased soundtrack that Healey recorded for the film.
Road House: The Lost Soundtrack is available to pre-order from the Jeff Healey Estate’s official website and will also be available on all major streaming platforms on June 7th, courtesy of Sony Music. This release features...

‘$la$her$’ Blu-ray Review: Terror Vision Unearths an Obscure 2001 Horror Movie With a Killer Premise
By late 2000, reality television was considered must-see entertainment by millions. Whether it was the drama and backstabbing tribal exploits of Survivor or Regis Philbin asking for the “final answer” on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, this boob tube subgenre was all the rage worldwide. Meanwhile, Japan has always been known for their off the wall, physically demanding gameshows like Takeshi’s Castle and Kunoichi.
Writer-director Maurice Devereaux (End of the Line) rode the wave of reality TV in an ocean of Japanese game show craziness on a surfboard crafted from The Running Man to bring the world $la$hers in 2001. And thanks to Terror Vision, who have been on a roll with their releases lately, we have a chance to revisit this Canadian direct-to-video flick. Despite how the title sounds, it is not supposed to be a straight-on horror film, but a satire in a horror film’s clothing, so to speak.

When it comes crashing down and it hurts inside, then it might be time to step away from the drugs and alcohol. And that’s just what pro wrestler, suburban commando and Richard Belzer choker-outer Hulk Hogan had to do when it started running wild on him.
Speaking with Muscle & Health, Hulk Hogan (real name Terry Bollea) said, “I’ve had a lot of practice drinking because I wrestled for about forty years, so those guys have a beer every once in a while,” a clear nod to the days when the vast majority of pro wrestlers were heavy drinkers (and looked like it). “But about seven months ago, I decided not to drink any more alcohol. I was at a New Year’s Eve party and saw a bunch of stuff that I didn’t condone or like. I saw myself in this environment, and I went, ‘You know what?...

Pro wrestler Terry Funk has died, according to WWE and pro wrestler Mick Foley. Funk was 79 years old.
Along with wrestling, the highly respected performer worked in film, including multiple Sylvester Stallone projects as far back as 1978’s “Paradise Alley.” Funk also appeared in “Over the Top,” did stunts in “Rocky III” and choreographed the climactic fight in “Rocky V.”
Funk was also featured in the cult classic film “Road House” and Johnny Knoxville’s “The Ringer.” He also had TV roles on shows such as “Quantum Leap” and “Swamp Thing.”
Funk was best known in his later years for pioneering “hardcore” wrestling, which involves using weapons and sharp objects, such as barbed wire, to both simulate and cause actual damage in order to increase the drama in a match. This often involved copious amounts of bleeding. Funk was also infamous for wrestling multiple “retirement” matches before quickly coming back afterward.

Competition breeds innovation, and few industries demonstrate that better than video games. Throughout history, console manufacturers have always tried to convince gamers to use their platforms if they want a truly superior experience. While many more modern consoles have actually delivered roughly the same technical capabilities as their competitors, the Super Nintendo vs. Sega Genesis era happens to be filled with examples of games that were clearly better on one console rather than the other.
One of the biggest console wars ever was the beef between Nintendo’s Super Nintendo Entertainment System (Snes) and the Sega Genesis. The rivalry was epitomized by marketing campaigns that dunked on the competition, claiming that one console was the end all, be all of gaming. This is how we ended up with famous terms such as “blast processing,” as well as timeless slogans like “Sega does what Nintendon’t.” More importantly, we ended up...

In the first in a new series of wrestling career retrospectives, Chris takes a look at the Extreme Career of Tommy Dreamer…
Born in Yonkers, New York, in 1971, Thomas James Laughlin was a wrestling fan in his youth and at the young age of only 18 years old he became a wrestler himself. Training under legendary New York pro-wrestler Johnny Rodz, Dreamer would debut in 1989. Rodz would train many wrestlers who we all know very well, from Dreamer himself, to guys like Bubba Ray and D’Von Dudley, Taz and others. Working indie federations such as Iwccw out of Boston, Dreamer began plying his craft in the ring, and it didn’t take him long to land a bigger job, that being with Eastern Championship Wrestling, which he joined in 1992. From there, the man formerly known as Thomas Laughlin’s life would change forever (And ever!…. And ever!…. And ever!)

Years of tension came to the surface as the two former best friends met in the squared circle on SmackDown. Mandy Rose was on the offensive early, tossing Sonya Deville over the announce table, but Deville landed the most successful maneuver and used a quick rollup to win the match.
My Opinion: 2.9 out of 5 – Well, I’ll be d—–…this was good s—. As an over-all match, this had some problems, but Deville was like a sexy, female Terry Funk with the way she talked ol’ Mandy into a slobbering stupor with the insults.

Dwayne Johnson said in a video Sunday that his father, former wrestler and WWE Hall of Famer Rocky Johnson, died of a blood clot in his leg that caused a heart attack.
The Rock posted a lengthy video to Instagram thanking his followers for their support in his time of grief and shared some additional memories of his father. But he clarified that Rocky Johnson had deep vein thrombosis — a blood clot in his leg that traveled to his lung, formed a clot and quickly killed him of a heart attack.
“A lot of you wanted to know what happened to my dad. He had not been feeling well. Been battling a cold, an infection. On Tuesday he had a deep vein thrombosis, which is essentially a blood clot in the leg, a big old blood clot. It broke free, traveled up his body and went right to his lung.
