Woo boy, Twin Peaks fans.
If you thought the first two hours of the Twin Peaks revival were weird, you haven't really seen anything yet.
Let's start with what is easily the David Lynch-iest sequence of the show so far.
The Purple Spaceship
After being expelled from the Black Lodge and taking a quick pit stop in the glass box in New York City, real Agent Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) finds himself in a weird purple spaceship thing with a woman who is listed in the credits as Naido (Nae Yuuki). Her eyes are melted shut, which lends some weight to the idea that eyes are important in Twin Peaks -- Ruth Davenport (Mary Stofle) was missing an eye and it also appeared that Evil Cooper (MacLachlan) shot Phyllis Hastings (Cornelia Guest) through the eye.
The woman eventually disappears and Cooper encounters the shadowy head of Major Garland Briggs (Don S. Davis), who utters the phrase "blue rose...

Twin Peaks Recap is a weekly column by Keith Uhlich covering David Lynch and Mark Frost's limited, 18-episode continuation of the Twin Peaks television series. The world's gone mad. Fortunately for FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan), he's been able to sit out most of the real-life insanity of the last 25 years. Unfortunately—as surely known by those viewers familiar with Mark Frost and David Lynch's singular television series Twin Peaks, which returned Sunday, May 21st for a limited, 18-episode run on Showtime—that's because he's been trapped in the unearthly purgatory known as the Black Lodge, all while his devilish doppelgänger, a mortal manifestation of the murderous spirit known as Killer Bob, runs amok among mankind.Already it feels like I'm speaking in tongues. But if Twin Peaks and Lynch (who directed, co-wrote, co-edited, and designed the sound for all of these new episodes) have taught us anything,...

Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven't seen Sunday's two-hour Twin Peaks premiere.
Twin Peaks returned to TV on Sunday after 27 years and it was every bit as scary, twisted and confusing as the original -- though we expected nothing less from David Lynch.
In the two-hour premiere, there were two distinct threads happening: one with the show's original characters and one featuring new faces and new mysteries. They eventually intersected, but for much of the first hour it was a lot of introducing seemingly unrelated things, most of which were happening outside the titular small Washington town.

The new "Twin Peaks" isn't slated to debut on Showtime until 2017, but a flurry of speculation about it happened last week with a tweet from Go For Locations indicating that filming had wrapped on the "first two seasons" of the series.
The episode count for the David Lynch-directed series was always in question, but that tweet suggested we'd be getting even more episodes than originally planned. Said tweet has since been deleted, so we'll have to wait to see how that pans out.
in the meantime in more official news, Showtime, Lynch and Mark Frost has released the official cast list for the new series with a whopping 217 names across the various episodes - a list that includes some real surprise big name inclusions such as Monica Bellucci, Michael Cera, Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Eddie Vedder, Ashley Judd, Ernie Hudson, Jim Belushi, Richard Chamberlain, Laura Dern,...

Rachael Ray won the first contest, but she's ready for a rematch.
The television cooking star engaged in friendly battle with another -- Guy Fieri -- last year on "Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off," which saw each of them coach a team of celebrity amateur chefs competing for charities. The Food Network series switches coasts as Season 2 launches Sunday, Jan. 6, with new episodes taped in California.
"I told Guy if my team won the first season, we'd go to his turf for the next one," Ray tells Zap2it. "Every day was a separate location, so it was like making a movie per day. We worked these guys and ladies even harder than the first group, and it was incredible."
Among the new contenders: Chilli of music's TLC, comedian Gilbert Gottfried, designer-author Cornelia Guest, actor (and Tori Spelling spouse) Dean McDermott, actress Kathy Najimy, football veteran and Season 12 "Dancing With the Stars" winner Hines Ward,...

Tomas Maier, Creative Director of Bottega Veneta, and Bernd Beetz, CEO of Coty. Many of New York’s fabulous and stylish folks came out last week to toast Tomas Maier, the creative director of Bottega Veneta to celebrate his very first fragrance for the design house, at the Academy Mansion on the Upper East Side with Coty Prestige. Maier, who was quite involved in the making of this fragrance—from the bottle design to its uncompromising scent—is very much in keeping with the aesthetic of the brand: understated minimalism with polished luxury. And, as expected, the scent is beautiful. Although it does not launch until later in September, it can be pre-ordered by calling Bergdorf Goodman at 212-872-2733. Herewith, the V.I.P. guest list: Jessica Chastain, Robbie Myers, Coco Brandolini D'Adda, Joe Zee, Linda Wells, Simon Doonan, Lauren Remington Platt, Hannah Bronfman, Britt Maren, Olga Scherer, Giovanna Battaglia,...

In his forthcoming memoir, "Stories I Only Tell My Friends," Rob Lowe dishes on the early days of the "Brat Pack" (he used to hate the term, coined by a "scumbag" journalist), his friendship with Charlie Sheen (who used to wear a bulletproof vest under his clothes to school), and his many lovers (Demi Moore, Natassja Kinski, Princess Stephanie, Melissa Gilbert, and Fawn Hall, of Iran-Contra infamy).
Breezy and light, the book is a fun read, and Lowe drops enough names and reveals enough personal stories to keep you turning its pages. It's easy to imagine the young kid from Ohio landing in Malibu and pinching himself as his life is transformed -- at one point during his Teen Beat phase, young female fans used to sneak into his bedroom, waking up his parents -- though he has a big enough ego that he can't help putting himself at the center of major news events,...

Opera star Nathan Gunn's spooky Halloween performance in New Jersey on Saturday, October 30 was too frightening for one audience member who fainted during the show. The baritone was performing a private concert at the estate of British tycoon Richard Branson in Natirar, New Jersey for revelers including "Gossip Girl" star Matthew Settle and actress Cornelia Guest.
But Gunn's haunting rendition of a piece by Franz Schubert, sung in German, proved too spooky for one female audience member, who collapsed and sparked a panic. Two medics at the party tended to the unnamed woman, and she soon recovered.
Gunn tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "The song had a Halloween theme, about death. I decided not to sing in German again after that. Luckily there were two doctors in the house. I hope she is Ok."...
