Frances Hyland(I)

Screenwriter Frances Hyland was born in Arkansas around 1904 the
daughter of William C. and Auralee (or Aura Lee) Moore. She was raised
in Stuttgart, Arkansas where her father was the editor of a local
newspaper. In 1926 Frances became the first woman to be hired by
Universal Studios as a gagman (comedy writer).
