- [on how he created the heavy music for Black Sabbath] "Well, to be honest, we just became so fed up with people talking while we were playing that we said, 'Screw it, let's turn it up, so they won't be able to chatter.' The band just kept getting louder and louder."
- I was with Jethro Tull for two weeks. So what?
- Here's what led to Ozzy being kicked out of Black Sabbath. By the time we were about to let him go, we didn't know how to go about doing so, and I was still unsure about making the decision, but Geezer and Bill came up to me and said, Either Ozzy goes, or we go. And you know Bill, he's like the businessman of the band, he's got the haircut, the suit, and the briefcase, and he fucking goes and tells Ozzy, Tony doesn't want to work with you anymore. So to this day, Ozzy still thinks that I fired him on my own, when actually the other two were the ones who wanted him out. But I wasn't very pleased with him either.
- At one gig, we had three women turn up dressed as witches. And when we went on stage in crosses, they all ran out!
